Mega Million madness

I think this lottery over the weekend gonna be a madness over the history. Since the first prize already gone up to $600 million. There were over 50 employees of my work place buy the lottery tickets in hope that tonight we all hit the jackpot, and we won't need to return to work the next week. That is a madness. There will be continuing buying tickets until tonight. So, I don't know what to say, good luck to me and everyone else!

Completely bonkers. The same thing happens in my part of the world, anytime the National Lottery's jackpot rolls over, everyone goes crazy and buys loads of tickets. As one of the other posters has already pointed out, your chances of winning don't improve any. Personally I win a pound a week - by not buying a lottery ticket. ;-) Try the following experiment: Next week spend $10 on lottery tickets. The week after, spend $10 on any random collection of articles from a dollar store, then put put them on Ebay. See which of those two "investments" has the best return.

What most people forget is that, whatever the Jackpot prize is, your chances of winning it are exactly the same per ticket and that, however many tickets you buy (well, within reason), your chances of winning the jackpot remain much less than being struck by lightning during your lifetime or of dying in an air crash. Also, whether the jackpot is $5 million or $500 million, winning it would probably 'change your life' in approximately the same way. It just might take a little longer for you to run out of moolah and be back where you started.

It would certainly be nice if someone I knew won, and would be kind enough to share the wealth....LOL
