I know everybody wants to be in the newest fashions and all up to date fashions. I'm more of a whatever looks good on me kinda person. You can throw a tie die Shirt, a pair of spandex pants, Hot Pants, Bell bottom pants or last but not least the MUMU....if it fits I wear it. Do you go with the fashion or are you old school like me

Hey, I'm a mom now so I don't have time to keep up with all of the latest trends in fashion. For me, I will typically wear a pair of jeans and a sweater or shirt and call it a day. These are classics so I really don't think that I am out of style, but I also know that I'm not going to be winning any kind of fashion shows. But still, if I'm comfortable in my skin, then that is all that really matters in the long run.

hi dorannmwin I think if one is comfortable he or she always looks good. I hate to see plump women wearing skin tight clothes as they look uncomfortable and probably are.also I hate to see big people like myself in those baggy mumus. we look even bigger and sloppy too. I think clothes that fit properly make us feel comfortable and comfortable in our own skin.not too snug and oh not baggy nobody looks good in baggy baggy clothes.

Heyyy!! HAPPY TO MEET YOU!! I'm also an old school like you hehe:D I very less care about what's the fashion and prefer to be in an attire that I am comfortable with. Sometimes it's not suitable in some situations but yet I prefer to be in comfortable dress as much as possible. Especially shoes..I like to wear floaters rather than shoes!

hi have you ever seen an overweight woman who is wearing clothes so snug she looks like a human weiner? theylook uncomfortable and it does not make them look slimmer at all.

Comfort is very important, I don't like stuff that pinches and is so tight that you can't breathe

I am not one that follows fashion at all. If I see it and I like it, I buy it and wear it. I have seen some clothes that were considered "fashionable" and I liked them. I didn't buy them because they were though. I really don't go anywhere to dress up much either. I am ok with my jeans and tee-shirts for the most part.

I might dress up once a year and that's too much, people say I look really good but I just don't feel comfortable all decked out.

For work, I try to keep it simple. Black pants and a non-patterned or just striped dress shirt. For at home, I will wear whatever fits.

reminds me when I wa a nurse 's aide we all had to wear white uniforms and white stockings and shoes, now a lot of hospitals let the nurse's aides w ear p astel colored pant suits and I'think its better espcially working in the pediatric floor. they do noit frighten the kids so much. I did wear scrubs in the ob and nursery floor though.

Hi missybear, i think one can always be stylish without being a person looking like their clothes are to small or to large and without trying to keep up with the fads of the moment. A lot of people do not know that fads are not for everyone... I believe in dressing your age and what looks good on you and not what supposedly looks good on others....

hehe bjc and missy and not everybody can even squeeze into skinny jeans either. I did see one lady who was bigger than me and was trying to wear skinny jeans, she looked like someone had painted the skinny jeans on her body.I swear if she would have bent over while shopping in Walmart the seams across her butt would have torn open.People were running their carts into things just gawping at her. lol lol

hi missybear I am also not into the latest fashions but I am elderly and oh my bell bottoms on an 85 year old? I think not. 'I love just what looks good on me and feels comfortable.I am large but I hate mumus as they make big look gnormous. they are not slimming they are bigging if there is such a word.I love to wear the colors that look good on me, soft lilacs to dark purple and bluish pinks. I also like to bring out my eyes my one good feature, they are dark blue green so blue brings out the blue while blue greens make my eyes look green.White I cannot wear as it makes me look even paler than I am. now I am thinking of an old second world war song, "Bell bottom trousers, coats of navy blue, she loved a sailor and he loved her too."lol what a bunch of trivia I have in my mind. ha ha.

I am the type of person who likes some of the fashions but not all. I'd rather wear something comfy on me then something that everyone else is wearing. That being said I like the military look of last season, and I do like more camisoles in this type of weather then tshirts. I go for solids rather then patterns.

Lately I have noticed that I have been more into fashion than in the past, when it comes to tops and dresses. But normally I am the casual type, a pair of jeans/shorts/capris and a nice top with sandals and/or sneakers and that is it. My hubby has been trying to get me to buy more nicer cloths since I had to throw my old wardrobe away, because I went from a size 24 to a size 8. So now he wants me to start wearing nicer cloths, which let me tells you feels great, I never thought that I would see myself in these shoes.

Sometimes I do try to dress up nice. But of course you can't just follow the trend just because everybody is trying it. You're right when you said not every kind of clothing looks good on you. I think it doesn't matter if your fashion is a year or two late. Nobody would seem to notice anyway (well, if you do pull the look nicely). I guess all you have to do is wear what you think suits you and wear it with confidence, as if THAT is the best outfit anybody could ever wear. :)

Elegance... - Yes, I used to embrace it.
I tend to go for what is fashionable in a very general, long term sense. This is dictated by a few concerns, not least financial. About 10 years ago, designer sports clothing was starting to enter into the mainstream in fashion in my country (UK), whereas it had once been cutting edge. I decided I wanted in and splashed out on designer glasses, sweat shirts, baseball caps, track bottoms, trainers and so on. A good deal of money was spent. I couldn't afford to spend like that today; but I still wear the clothes I bought then. Which isn't such a bad thing, as designer sportswear is still hightly fashionable over here...certainly not cutting edge...or haute couture or anything...but fine for me. I tend to tone the look down with a few jaunty variations, such as a tweed cap I like to wear. A few years back I tried to change my image and invest in a more classical "preppy" look, but I just couldn't afford it, and was about to undergo a pretty severe financial crisis anyway, so I abandoned my efforts pretty sharpish. I have some smart clothes, but tend not to wear them during the day, as I find the sports clothes so comfortable; yes, I'm at that age where I love comfort. I'm still quite style-conscious in a way, I like getting a good haircut, and so on. But in other ways, I can be highly negligent...for example, I'll wear the same clothes over and over again. And I'll do things like put whites in with non-whites. Strange paradox, this. I mean when you compare me to how I used to be when I was in my 20s, and I used to...well let's face it...overdress. I was "flash" you could say, very vain. I'm not so vain. But I still care about my appearance in my own way.

You sound like a sharp dressed man, as long as you're comfortable who cares what you wear. We could go back to the cave days some day then we wouldn't have to worry about clothe

I couldn't be bothered trying to be fashionable. I don't have the money for it and even if I did, I reckon I could think of heaps better things to do with my money. I look pretty daggy most of the time at home but I dress decently when I have to. Fashion comes and goes but style is timeless

Following every trend is expensive, tiresome and indicates that one does not necessarily have much confidence in one's own self; however, holding on to trends that have long since passed makes one appear clueless and out-of-touch. There is a difference between fashion and style. Wearing the latest trend can mean that one is in fashion, but it doesn't necessarily mean that one is stylish. Some things that are trendy are just in poor taste. I would like to think that most of my outfits demonstrate that I have a decent sense of style. I have a closet overflowing with clothes--ranging from bohemian to classic.

HI Missybear. I am older and like looser fitting clothes now. except my shorts and jeans. but even then they are not tight on my body. Funny you mentioned mumu's. I had to go get my mother in law an outfit for easter. She is in a nursing home so she just needs clothes to be comfortable. I found a pair of pjs that actually just looked like casual clothes I got the outfit for her, and while I was browsing I found this royal blue cotton kind of krinkly material with a crochet trim. I know its going to become one of my favorite cothes to wear when I am home and don't feel good. It is also kind of elegant looking even to wear out because of the way they trimmed it. However I don't think my mother in law would wear it. But I did grab it for me go with the flow seems everyone is doing their own thing in clothes today. Just wish companies would make clothes right for us that are not so elderly yet but don't feel comfortable in skinny jeans. My son is 22 and he will not wear skinny jeans either. He does not like the tightness.

I don't really always follow fashion but whenever there's a trend that I would really really like to try (rarely happens), I will try to wear it. I just wear whatever suits my body type and I have my own style so I don't really follow other people when it comes to style.
