I was wishing my family liked breakfast food as I saw a neat recipe for cinnamon pancakes. Which then got me to thinking how do you like your pancakes? I'm usually simple person just maple syrup, a pat of butter, and sometimes a splurge w/ some chocolate chips.

I like just a plain pancake also with maple syrup and a butter on it. My husband asked me to make a pancake mix with cream of corn on it, and when I tasted it, it tasted soo good! :D

Cream corn "on" it or "in" the batter? I want to say I've seen something with corn in pancakes before but I think it was ground.

You have to mix the cream of corn in the batter.

I don't often eat pancakes but when I do I eat them with blueberries cooked into them and nothing else. I make them with ground up Fiber One cereal, egg whites, flour and baking powder. Then I just eat them. I like to freeze them and toast one or two in the toaster for a quick breakfast. I've been trying to manage my weight all my life and I forget what a lot of things taste like, pancakes being one of them. I remember them with real butter and syrup but it's been more than 20 years since I had them like that. My favorite pancakes ever were at IHOP, blueberry pancakes with blueberry compote on top!

I sense a blueberry lover!!! You always have such great tips Dragon! I don't know that I'd use the fiber one but I'll put in some flax seed for the fiber and the omega3's. Perkins makes some pretty fluffy pancakes too, not as many variations as IHOP but there are more Perkins around. I probably haven't had breakfast out since before we had kids... as I'm way too cheap now to go out to eat somewhere that has something I can make at home. Though not as fluffy as the restaurnts though... and all the fruit sauces... But I can make my own berry syrup, I usually boil down some mixed berries or just blueberries with some sugar and some maple syrup... YUMMY!

Oh, I forgot--they are also delicious with sugarless blueberry jelly spread over top! If I were you, I'd make up a big batch when you have some time and freeze them to put in the toaster later. I do that same with French Toast. I also cook and freeze scrambled eggs (well, scrambled egg whites!) and omelets. I don't feel like cooking most mornings but do like a hot breakfast!

I like mine with just syrup but I like to have a soft cooked egg on top. I also like bluberries in them. I tried the Cinnabon cinnamon pancakes you buy in the freezer department and they were yummy so I hope you get to try your recipe!

If I eat them at home, I go for the simple stuff. If I eat out..I usually go for the fruit topping kind. I love the strawberry topping with whipped cream on my pancakes. Blueberries and whipped cream is one of my favorites too. There is this one place here that has 10 different kinds of syrup on the table for your pancakes. Fruit flavors, chocolate, and the good old maple syrups...mmmm..makes me want breakfast for dinner.

When I have visited the US I always go at least once to one of those reataurants who serve pankakes with lots of different syrups and cream. But at home I mostly make crepes and I use them mainly as a main dish (a spinach or kale sauce, a white sauce with schreded meat and the like). It´s a lunch or diner dish. My breakfasts are usually either a cup of cokkee with a little milk or some bread if I´m hungry.

I like them with apricot jam or chocolate pudding. The pancakes we make are flat, and we actually fill them with the topping by rolling them up.

Kinda like a crepe? Sounds yummy, you should post pics and do a discussion the next time you make them.

can i go and eat breakfast there? i love pancakes, any variety of it! But then my family for one is not satisfied with just pancakes for breakfast. We, Filipinos really have rice and a viand for breakfast, like eggs, chorizo or ham.

Well, I have to say that I'm really not that much of a pancake person, but they are something that I do like to eat from time to time. That said, when I want pancakes, I really like to have them with fresh candied strawberries and whipped cream on top of them. I think that the reason that I like them so well like this is because of the fact that it really feels like an indulgence when I eat them like that, but they aren't all that bad for you.
