This years spring cleaning has been a huge undertaking. WE moved all of the furniture out of the two rooms with wall to wall carpeting and got the carpets professionally cleaned, along with the runners that cover our hard wood floor stairs. I went through the 4 drawer file cabinet and condensed to a two drawer file cabinet (found on freecycle) and posted the 4 drawer one on free cycle to get it out of the way. Today, and the rest of the week, we are going to tackle another room of moving furniture out and making sure to really give the hard wood floors a good clean and polish. It has been a few years since we did a true spring clean, as opposed to just switching out winter for summer clothing. It has been hours and hours of work, but condensing and getting rid of stuff feels good.

I don't do "true" spring cleaning every year as it is so much work and so time consuming too. I just do it every few years. My spring cleaning consists of just switching the winter and summer clothings and clenaing out ht ecabinets one by one so that it is not a lot of work at one time. I do it at my own rythm one by one...

If I did it at my husband's rythym it would never get done. So I busted my butt to get it done.

Well, kind of :-) I always wash all the windows in my flat during the spring. I do the normal cleaning of course, but I usually save the "clean-all-the-flat" for the summer. At the moment, it's 2 degrees and snowing and quite windy, so openining doors and windows to air and wash isn't really tempting :-/ Neither is putting the mats on the veranda, I'm sure they'll blow away! I'm planning to use Easter to check my wardrobe and lockers though, and get rid of old socks etc. I'm pretty sure there's things hidden there I'll never use again.

Friday was fantastic, nice, sunny and warm (for the time of the year). Then it started snowing in the evening and since then we've had 30 cm of snow. Since it is Easter, it seems like the people responsible for removing said snow has gone on holiday. It hasn't planned to melt anytime soon, but at least the world looks nice and white again, instead of muddy grey.

We had an extremely mild winter. We only had one snowfall that actually stayed around for more than a day. While winter is not my favorite, we are in for a bad year for bugs and allergies.

We have had decent weather, so opening windows and hanging stuff out to air has been really nice.

I was on spring break and got a bee up my butt over the lack of stuff my husband got done on his spring break. I made him move the furniture every night and I did all the work during the day.

I didn't do a spring cleaning last year, so it's hight time to it now. I live in an apartment, so it's not so much work. Most of the cleaning is done now, but I need to get rid of old things. Will be cleaning the wardrobe and hanging clothes out in the air, but we have stormy winds now, so I rather wait with that. The wooden furniture needs to be polished, I'm planning to do that tomorrow. The rooms will smell good

I miss living in a small apartment at times. Spring cleaning is one of them. The more space you have the more things to fill it.

Omg, we do spring cleaning every year and I feel so tired by thinking that I should do it soon! It's the same for our house, we move all furniture and clean the floors. Also, we wash all the carpets by hand and dry them in the sun. It's a nightmare but after we're done, the house smells so fresh and clean that it's worth it!

My daughter's toy room and bed room are going to have to wait. I have to get laundry done for work this week.

Yep this weekend we spent cleaning up everything washing the wall, washing the house, short out clothes (many clothes must go to goodwill), clean up storage, I am exhausted. Good thing I have mylot, so whenever I need to take a break I just read some posting and participate just like what I am doing now.

The garage and the shed are my husband's domains. He has to do them in his own sweet time, but I anticipate everything being done before we leave for my parents Friday morning for Easter weekend.

I love down-sizing and getting rid of stuff - it's awesome! And makes you feel awesome! I was planning on trying to do a bunch of spring cleaning this weekend, but so far it hasn't happened. I would love to look through our stuff, re-organize, and donate a bunch of things we don't use (that or sell). It's on my to do list!

A friend and I are having a joint garage sale in June, at the same time as the city wide garage sales. What is not sold, will get sent to a thrift store? The two local thrift stores have free pick up the week after the city wide garage sale.

Hi. We don't do the spring cleaning but the winter one. To be exact, as the spring festival approaches, we do a through cleaning to observe it. We do the winter cleaning just as your spring cleaning.but i think the tough part is to clean the kitchen ventilator which is oily. After i finish cleaning it i think i finish a big task.

Spring cleaning means yard sale season at my house. For some reason my family seems to collect so much stuff in a year. I currently have went through 2 rooms in my house and already have enough stuff to have a pretty big yard sale. There are still 4 more rooms to go before we have our sale. I think the big thing is that people are always buying my kids toys throughout the year, plus they grow quickly so we always have a ton of clothes that do not fit anymore. I do dread getting everything together and out of the house, but in the end it does put a pretty good chunk of extra money in our pockets.

This will be my first garage sale in about 5 years. I have routinely donated stuff throughout that time, but it is time to get rid of baby stuff and a ton of my daughters toys need to be taken out of my house for my own sanity. I have not started on her room or toy room with purging. Just the spare bedroom which has the out of season closet and the extra under the bed boxes, our bedroom, the office and the laundry room have been done.
