the first layer is coming off- been having these white marks on the teeth, the enamel is coming off said the dentist. I am quite alarmed abut this- since the exposed teeth hurts when it is touched..And the dentist said there is no way to get it back unless i do fluoride treatments or buy this expensive medicine. Anyone ever experienced the same thing? Can you give me any advice?

i am in my late teens-ish. The doctor said it may be caused by eating sour foods ,acidic food. But I don't eat those type of food so i don't really now the cause now.

It's good you have consulted your dentist about your teeth problem. But I guess you should have done it earlier so that it get fix sooner. I have not experienced that kind of problem before. Anyway, I just hope your teeth gets back the way it was before as per your dentist assurance.

The best thing for you to do is just follow what your dentist had advised. Just have patience in treating your teeth and I know in no time it will be back to normal again.

Has the Dentist told you what is causing this? Do you need to change your diet? You can treat the condition all you want and can afford but if you don't stp the cause you will lose your teeth. My Dentist says the most common reason for this is acid reflex. I am having a similar problem and am using the fluoride treatments. This seems to be working. But I have a desease that causes dry mouth However the result is the same and very painful unless I am faithful about my treatments.

I also need a flouride treatment for my teeth, but I have been spending so much money in doctorass that I am looking the other way to go to see a dentist. Most of the doctor bills have been paid by my insurance and lymphoma has also government help. But there“s no insurance for dental problems

It is sad to know that. The dentist can really help you with that but I just hope there are cheaper medicine to help it get back to its place. My problem with mine is, my teeth are thick and the cavities have an ample space to hide. I need not to miss flossing it...or else......

I have to floss regularly to but i forget to do it sometime which is why i have lots of small cavities here and there. The medicine is very expensive though, and i've been putting it for almost a month, I hope it's working.

I think, taking in some foods that are rich in calcium may help. Also, try avoid those that make your teeth brittle, like drinking a very cold water right after finishing a very hot cup of coffee.

What foods are rich in calcium? I only know milk and cheese- and other dairy products... And it's really weird really, since what's causing brittle teeth are food that are sour which I never eat.

By the way, may I ask, what is your toothpaste? How is it? Does it contain Flouride?

Well, if I were to give you some advice relating to your problem, I do not know quite what to advise. However all the ways I would follow the treatment that you have been recommended by the dentist. But I must alert you that I also have a similar problem to yours. I have a pain in my right jaw, apparently does not seem a problem related to teeth (toothache pain would be worse!). In all the ways I have booked a dentist. Maybe I will do the rays, Something, (hopefully not serious!) Should be.

Yeah, i think I'd just follow what the doctor said since they know what is best for us...usually. And she has been my dentist since I was very little. I just hesitated because it will cost so much money..
