If eating is a hobby people eat a lot too. Many people eat because it's their hobby and it's as worse as eating for habit. Although I would say: eating for habit (2-4 times a day small meal) is better as for hobby. Cooking/preparing your own healthy meals should be a hobby. After you did that and had the work from it you can enjoy it. That is how it should be. Not just sit down and let yourself served by someone who was cooking whole day because you want your hobby.

i am told eating must be hobby because when its hobby people take care, and takes healthy food and so on.if it habit people don't care about their health, they eats junk food, and no mercy upon stomach.

You both are right , the word hobby means something that we like to do and do it often. I think what Ravijoy means that a hobby is something that we like doing and we do it with some awareness , unlike a habit , a habit is something that we probabely do without awareness. Eating with awareness is the right thing to do. To consider what healthy and what is not and eating according to that. Preparing the meal can also add some satisfaction but it doesn't mean that the meal is healthy.

Yeah, many people always want to eat or try some new food and eat more than they can finish... I feel sad for the food they did not finish, it is just wasted. And yes, I agree...people should exercise too too stay healthy.

And because many people likes to eat many restaurants are being open to cater to their needs. Especially fast foods promising good foods with promo prices just to lure customers.

I think that far too many people do indeed think that food is something to be enjoyed rather than just something that is keeping our bodies fuelled to go about our daily business. I am losing weight at the moment, and one of the hardest things that I have had to learn is to only eat when I am hungry rather than whenever I am bored or want something nice to eat. Now, I only eat when my body needs more fuel to survive, and I am managing to lose weight because of this, but there does need to be a lot more education about how people need to eat, otherwise the obesity crisis is just going to get even worse.

I agree. We should not be living for eating. Indeed, we should just eat for living. And I also add, that stomach is just part of the body. If we're already full, we should stop eating. And we should choose our food wisely. If we don't exercise, walking still helps than not doing anything at all.

yeah that is fact. according to YOGA we should eat until fill our half stomach.maen that we should eat up-to half stomach and not full.

A hobby can also be confused with a temptation , or even addiction. The line between a hobby and an addiction is blur for me personally. I like playing a computer game as a hobby but it sometimes comes to the point when it distruct things from my life like : it makes me a lot less interested in helping my sister or doing studies or even taking my dog for a walk...

I admit that I eat when I am bored. Snacking keeps me awake when I have been sitting in one place for a long time and start to get the drowsies. But I don't know that I would call it a hobby. In fact, lately, I have grown to the point that I don't really care to eat anything anymore, I just do it for something to do or because I have to. Someone told me once that part of the reason Americans are so vastly overweight and Europeans are not is because American's eat to live and Europeans (Italians and French, mostly, but others too) live to eat. I'm not really sure how that works but most nutritional experts suggest that people eat six small meals (around 1000-1200 calories) and three small (100 calorie) snacks to keep their metabolism active. That when we eat fewer times a day our metabolism slows and goes dormant in between and it really should be working all the time, which is why we should eat smaller portions more often. But who has time to do that!?

Eating can be kind of an addiction. Not to mention that junk food is full of ingredients which are addictive, and they are added for this purpose, so people buy more of them. As long as somebody eats junk food, it might be hard to give it up this eating hobby. It's better to start eating healthy home made food, or even better to prepare it ourselves.
