Starbucks wasn't the taste for Europeans?

Online chat, more like international chat with some random people, I got some feedback that majority of European people doesn't like starbucks much. They said that "Starbucks" seems everywhere, in Europe, in Asia, but the taste of it was mediocre, and they can recommend other tourists go to some local cafe which will serve better coffee than starbucks. Also, starbucks just quite expensive in comparison to other business which also serve coffee too. I personally like starbucks too, but since its price going up a bit, I just won't be able to afford to visit them everyday though. What is your take on starbucks?

I wouldn't be surprised about that as I know Europeans make their own terrific blend of coffee. Starbucks is indeed expensive and sometimes I think that you pay for the ambiance of the coffee shop itself and not only for the coffee they serve.

Don't care very much for Starbucks. Not sure if that is because I'm European or because I don't drink coffee :-) Could be both! We don't have Starbucks here but when I'm travelling to places where they are, I'd usually go for a bakery or some other not-chain place as in a local cafe. Better tea, better hot chocolate, better cakes. No idea whether they have better coffee :-) The friend I travel with likes the Starbucks coffee, so it might be OK.

Starbucks is definitely expensive. And like you said...They seem to be lacking in the taste department. At least when it comes to normal coffee, like the grounded stuff which I drink. I like Caribou Coffee (and smaller coffee shops') stuff WAY better. And it kind of feels better to support a more local economy & business. *shrugs*

It is funny how you ask a question about Starbucks because it made me think about how I used to spend money like it was going out of style, but once I got engaged to randy I started finding ways to cut my budget so we can pay for our wedding and start saving up for our house. Starbucks was the first thing I cut from my budget. Then last week I had a few extra bucks I bought a Starbuck's coffee and hated the taste of the coffee. It was strange how much one's taste buds can change over time.
