I am taking more note of natural cleaning these days using natural ingredients, such as salt, lemon, vinegar, lavender oils ect. With all the chemicals being used it mustn't be very good for us or our environment. I often listen to my grandmothers tips and using them also, they are great for the pocket also! A lot less expensive than bottled chemicals. for instance I use lemon to get strong smells like garlic out of chopping board, white vinegar to clean windows and also a good weed killer, use cola to clean steel and chrome, not silver. Has anyone else got any good natural cleaning tips?

I own a book called Haleys cleaning hints and it includes some of the ideas already mentioned. Baking soda can be used to scrub anything including the inside of the oven. As Lisona mentioned, vinegar is great for taking off hard water deposits. Sometimes I put the peelings of lemons or oranges in my garbage disposal to clean and freshen an area that I'm unable to reach. Then when I turn on the disposal to grind the peelings it makes my kitchen smell great.

Hello, I know a few of your natural "tips" but I don't use them always. At school I learned to make some soap but it was only to wash your hands.

We use baking soda to get rid of smells instead of lemon. We like to eat the lemon, you see... But it's good to know that you want to focus on using the naturals to clean your surroundings. It is much better to use them because you are sure to know that they are safe and cheap.

That's such a nice gesture of you! Congratulations! I don't know if you know about this or you will like but I learned in a Vegan cooking show that the girls are preatty good in home tips as well. They threw a little bit of baking powder in the sink and some vinegar over it, it becomes to bubble and making noise, they say it take the stains of the sink. I thought it was preatty fun... And cheat and eco
