As you might know, Best Buy is facing the danger of following circuit city's shoes, they will close 50 stores within the United States. Due to the phenomenon of "Showroom" of these retailers, most customers would rather take a personal look at those electronic stores offer, and they will search online or elsewhere for the similar or same products with cheaper price. Now, the major manufacturers like LG, Samsung, and Sony etc.... will mandate all retailers to sell their products at a fixed price, or else, the retailer won't get to sell their products at all. That is one way those manufacturers trying to stop the "Showroom" phenomenon. But as a customer of myself, I would rather let the market to determine, and I would rather look for something cheaper. If I won't shop on the major brand name, those smaller manufacturers might offer better deal, there is always competition going on.
