Chelsea captain John Terry will be sidelined for an indefinite period of time because of two broken ribs. 31 years old defender was replaced in the 60th minute in the game last night. Following the release of Terry in the Chelsea defense become chaos. Will Chelsea do well in upcoming games without their captain ?

When John Terry was on form he was one of the best defenders in the country but i think that now he is getting old and a bit slow. I think that maybe Chelsea should be looking at replacing People like Terry, Lampard and Drogba because they are struggling to preform every week in the Premier league.

I agree with you about Terry. Now about Drogba and Lampard I think that they have some more to give, especially Drogba, they just needed to be better managed. You can't leave them both to play a full-90min game. You can even have them in the bench to give your team a good-quality 30min boost. Something like Del Piero in Juventus, Giggs and Scholes in Man.United or Totti in Roma :)

older players are ok in European football and terry will be good for that but the premier league is to fast for him know so they need some younger faster players

oh nooo thet is not god :( - John terry plays well in last few games in europe and he is definitly key player for chalsea . I think thet they have a chance against barcelona but not so big chance but after this they are still with small chance to go in final . i hope thet he will go beck from injury very fast .

I think that is not good for Chelsea too. In the game vs Benfica we saw that when John Terry left the field the situation in Chelsea's defense was bad. Ithink that if he doesn't play vs Barcelona its will be very bad for Chelsea.

I think in the longer term, it might be a great news for Chelsea. All through the season John Terry has been the slow link in the Chelsea's defense. Because of that they have not been able to play the free flowing game up front. Due to this Mata and Torres have not really blossomed in this team. Now that Terry is out injured, I think they can now try and play their free flowing game. Cheers! Ram

i think thats why AVB want to buy gary cahill he believes that john tery had reached his best performance and chelsea must be ready if someday that john tery did not play anymore for chelsea..

Knowing John Terry, if the club needs him, he will play through the pain barrier. Without doubt, this period is an important phrase of the season. Whether this is a successful or a disasterous one, the next few games will decide.

It is really unfortunate for Chelsea to lose the service of John Terry at this crucial stage of the season where they are fighting to win the UCL, FA cup and a place in next season's UCL. Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Branislav Ivanovic are capable defensive fill-ins but they lack the leadership quality of Terry. Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole and other senior players will have to step up to motivate and lead. With Fernando Torres seemingly back in form, I am confident that Chelsea can do as well in the absence of John Terry.
