You might already heard it over the news, over last weekend, the madness of Mega Million with $640 million, there were 3 winning tickets sold, Kansas, Maryland, and Illinois respectively. One lady and her 2 other co - workers bought a winning ticket, but she kept the ticket herself, and she is unwilling to share the reward with other 2 person at work. Morally wrong. Although that 2 persons get a lawyer to sue her for the money, there is no proof that they co - buy the ticket; no case can be work at this point. So, one lesson must be learned. When you want to pool the money together to get a lottery ticket, make sure everyone has a copy of the ticket, and sign your name on it. Otherwise, you will be conned. Nowadays, you just can't trust anybody at all.

It is sad. Fortune makes people to lose the sense of what is right and wrong. What if there is a day when nobody, including one's own family, is trustworthy? We are no better than animals when we reach such a stage. We are humans because we are civilized. I would rather go crazy than living in a world where every man is for himself. I hope the woman who keeps the winning ticket will recover her conscience and do the right thing.

And how stupid is that? That much money and she 's willing to lose friends over money that she will probably never use, or neede to use. I have even a better idea. Do what I did. don't participate in an office pool. People are so greedy.

This woman sounds like a nut. I don’t think that she has the winning ticket; this is just a person who wants attention. Even her lawyer has said that he don’t think she has the ticket. A few year ago some woman claim to had won a big megamillions jackpot that was a record win at the time and that she had bought the winning ticket from a 7-11 store, only to confess later that she didn’t have the winning ticket.
But, if Mirlande Wilson does have the winning ticket then she is a thief and owes her lottery pool players some of that dough. There was a court case recently where the winner made the same claim of a ticket from a lottery pool that was awarded to the players. This is why if you are going to play in a lottery pool you should have clear rules on how it’s going to be ran, and that everyone get a signed copy of all the tickets played.

So far this woman has not claimed the prize or even shown the ticket. In one report, she said the ticket is hidden in the McDonalds where she worked.
Actually, there might be proof that the tickets were purchased as a group. The workers did pool their money so she had to buy more than one ticket. The lottery tickets are not printed individually unless you buy only one ticket at a time. If you buy more than one ticket, they are printed on the same slip with up to 5 tickets on the same slip. If her one ticket is on the same slip as tickets for the group, how can she prove she bought the ticket by herself?
In New Jersey in 2010 there was a group of workers who pooled money for Mega Millions tickets. The guy who bought the tickets tried to claim the $38.5 million by himself. The co-workers sued and won their share last month.
It's a shame with such a large payout that this woman has to be greedy.

640M???!!! Oh my!! Thats a looooooot! That lot of money can last a lifetime... They should have had proof that they co-bought the ticket because legally, the one who holds the original is the sole owner of the loot.

I actually haven't heard of that. I would be PISSED if I was one of those other co-workers! I mean how can you really be greedy of $640 million dollars? You would still each have $200 million a piece which is MORE than enough to live lavishly. That is ridiculous. But I guess that's how money can change some people...

I haven't heard about this but I had heard about the huge jackpot and three winning tickets. I never really understood why people have a syndicate.
