If There is Violence, We KNOW Who is to BLAME

Hey, I know it's no longer the media's favorite story, but there are some things about the Zimmerman/Martin case that we should know. Perhaps it's because the media misled us all so much that they've dropped the story to a lower importance - that way, they won't have to report on how many mistakes and outright lies they told us. The media told us that Zimmerman weighed 240 lbs and was much larger than Trayvon Martin. Whoops! George Zimmerman only weighs 170lbs and he's several inches shorter than Martin. Martin was the larger of the two, not Zimmerman. The media told us that police just asked Zimmerman for his story and then sent him on his way. They didn't tell us that the police handcuffed him and took him to the station for questioning. The media didn't tell you that the Sanford police department administered a voice stress test to George Zimmerman and he passed. This test is like a polygraph except it measures voice stress instead of vital signs. It is used by the military and 1,800 local, federal and state law enforcement agencies. The media reported that the video of Zimmerman showed no injuries, but after the DC Caller enhanced it and demonstrated that you COULD see injuries, such as wounds on the back of his head, ABC also enhanced it and announced that yes, Zimmerman had injuries that matched his version of the story. NBC edited the 911 tape to make it sound as if Zimmerman was making racist comments and didn't bother to tell you they did that until after Fox News broadcast and re-broadcast and re-broadcast the full tape asking for explanation. Then NBC apologized by saying that some unknown employee must have edited it without their knowledge. Gosh. Al Sharpton, who is marching about and spouting off about racism and violence is allowed to stir up tempers and trouble while continuing to host a show on MSNBC. Now the people of Sanford are being warned to be alert. The town is spending lots of money on extra police and fire and paramedics, preparing for riots after the announcement finally comes on the Trayvon shooting. The Neo-Nazis have moved into town too, planning some racist mayhem of their own. Zimmerman still has a bounty on his head from the New Black Panthers. And all of this is due to the way the media lied and pandered and hyped their lies to create a story about racial profiling. Did the media tell you that the neighborhood is already quite diverse and a black teen walking along in a hoodie would not be an unusual sight? No, they worked to make it seem like the white guy they thought Zimmerman was, was a racist who targeted this kid only because he was black. If there are no charges brought against Zimmerman, we could see violence erupt. If Zimmerman is tried and found 'not guilty', we could see violence erupt. The only way to avoid violence is probably to charge Zimmerman and find him guitly no matter what, no matter even if he is innocent. Hey, maybe we need to sacrifice him for the good of the community. If we see violence erupt, if there is bloodshed, we know who to blame. THE MEDIA WHO LIED.

That is because this is how are problems get solved blaming everyone. When are people going to start taking responsibility for their own actions?

I am not sure who is not taking responsibility for their own actions here? Certainly the media is not taking responsibility. The firestorm they created with their half-truths and reckless reporting is going to cause problems that will reverberate throughout that community and the nation for years to come. I think there is a responsibility on the news media to report only the news and facts, and not to report things they don't know are true and definitely not to report things they know are not true.

How are people going to get facts if the media doesn't report them? People will make up their own minds, yes, but if their opinions are based on lies and half-truths and edited tapes and slanted reporting, then people will be making the wrong assessments. So yes, if the media and the press are entrusted with telling people the facts and they do not, then they are to blame when people get the wrong idea. And if people religiously listen to just one media outlet and not any other, or decide never to expose themselves to all points of view and all sources of information, then they are responsible for drawing the wrong conclusions from the lies they are told. The media did lie. They have admitted it. But still, the people who listened to the lies but have not bothered to listen to the outlets who are telling the truth still have the wrong opinions and they are still demanding blood. There's no out. They have to kill Zimmerman, right? And if he is innocent, the media will be to blame.

So you think it is all the medias fault? People have minds, they will get the facts accordingly and make up their own minds. You think the media is running this country? I am sure people know people who know the case and don't even need to rely on the media. If people do not trust the media they are not going to listen or watch them. At least most of the people. I hope people are are smarter than that. That is why I may watch Fox News 5 seconds in a month, don't trust them. At one point in my life I use to watch them every day. Why are the Dixie Chicks so bad?

This is really a shocking recount of the incident. However it is not really surprising as for the past 3 1/3 years (since the last election) the media has been either blowing up and exaggerating or remaining quiet and covering up so many incidents I do not believe anything they say.

It's become impossible to find out the truth from the mainstream media on anything. I keep a close eye on Twitter and check all the outlets that will publicize the truth but it takes weeks of those outlets publicizing a story before the major networks will give out any of the truth, and sometimes they never will. The free press was supposed to be one of the guarantees of a free society. If the press is purposely withholding the truth, then it is just one more blow for those who would strike down our freedom and destroy our nation.

I saw Frank Luntz, the pollster, interviewed last night and he was talking about the media. I don't remember exactly what he said but the gist of is was tjat ss an experiment he let it "leak" to a chatty friend that he was going to work on a candidate's campaign. The next day it was all over the media--no one bothered to call him and confirm or disprove the facts, no one interviewed any of his staffers or his friends. In short, the media publishes and broadcasts unconfirmed gossip as fact and damn the consequences.

I would like to see several media outlets put on trial or at least severely fined for slander (spoken defamation), libel (defaming in print), provoking civil unrest and any other charges that can be brought. I say civil unrest because there have been incidents across the country of retaliatory violence. I have a theory that this case was dredged up after a month in an effort to divide us and pump up votes for the incumbent president. Either that or Sharpton and Jackson needed something to boost their publicity images. This was not an accident. We have a similar but much more compelling case in Dayton but there is no national publicity about it--Trayvon Martin is being sensationalized, trivialized and used for political value, though to whose benefit is still unclear.

I agree with your theory. I definitely think this was brought to national attention for political gain. I definitely think that there are people who don't care how many lives are sacrificed, or how the country is divided, if it means they will benefit politically.

It's election year dragon. Who do you think will benefit from this? MSNBC might be some folks version of journalistic health in our country, but I'd rather watch FOX, who will allow even Juan Willams a voice when his 'liberal' friends at NPR fired him for telling the truth about terrorists. That to me shows they are BALANCED. Juan has actually made sense to me in his fair descriptions of some liberal views. But we have those who will not 'darken' the doors of FOX because they're afraid they might somehow be damaged by a balanced reporting and not a slanted version? Here are 50 examples of left wing bias in the media. http://www.westernjournalism.com/top-50-examples-liberal-media-bias/

It definitely proves that you can't believe anything you hear, read or see from the mainstream media. This isn't just a case of them just doing a lousy job of reporting, they intentionally misrepresented and distorted the facts. News reporting in this country is totally unreliable and not trustworthy at all. Whatever happened to standards in the news business? What ever happened to reporters wanting to report the truth. I guess integrity is too much to ask for from the news media today.

The press, instead of being one of the pillars of a free society, is now one of the biggest threats to our free society. It is precisely because they have changed their mission from one of printing the truth, whatever it may be, regardless of the consequences to one of molding and shaping public opinion by printing only what will serve their agenda. The press should have no agenda but the truth. Journalistic activism will result in a populace less informed and more easily led by the nose. That is the goal. This is why the feds are fighting so hard to get control of the internet, because it is where voices can freely spout truth. Too many voices makes it more difficult to keep the message pure and makes it too difficult to fool all the people all the time.
