Instant noodle is delicious and convenient. Nowadays, there are many new kinds of instant noodles : beef, lobster, pig, chicken etc... They're very popular in modern life. I like them. We often eat them on breakfast because instant noodle is very hot. I often heat the mouth if I eat them 2 or 3 days continuously :( I think that they're not good for health. But they're very delicious. Their smell is attractive ! So, I still eat them ! Moreover, they're convenient when I don't have much time for cooking. How do you think about instant noodle? Do you like it? Is it good or bad for health?

Healthy man! - Yes, he obviously eats quite well (or did; this was CRH a few years ago now)...he is lucky, many in our world don't have that option, sadly.
It's true they are delicious, and more importantly, incredibly cheap, if you know where to find them. In the past, I've favoured my local supermarket's own brand of instant noodle, either in a packet; or in a pot (pot noodle). They are delicious, and you can buy them for just a few pennies. However, eating just instant noodles is, needless to say, not very healthy. It's OK for a few days or whatever if you are hard up, but longer could be bad for your health. However, there is no reason why instant noodles CAN'T be healthy...you just have to spruce them up! I went through a phase of dropping little (cherry?) tomatoes into my instant noodles, and bingo, you had nice "stewed" tomatoes to go with them; I also went through a phase of squeezing garlic (out of a tube) into them. This had the effect of making instant noodles a healthier meal than they would otherwise be. Instant noodles are sure tasty, but they should be supplemented by other foodstuffs...vegetables; bread; cheese and so on. Not eaten on their own.

Mmmmm! No kidding... when someone has literally no food budget, things like instant noodles are a good bulk item that you can add to all sorts of dishes. It IS better to add other things to them though, if you're eating them every day.

I agree with you. Instant noodle will be more delicious and better for health if we supplement other food in it. I usually like tomato, egg and vegetable.

I love instant noodles. The noodles itself isn't deleterious to our health for it is only made from starch or some kind of flour perhaps. The flavoring would be the problem because it's mostly made from artificial spices and/or chemicals.

That's right. But you can find an instant noodles without spice/chemicals now? No ! Accept that you make it by yourselves ! So, we shouldn't eat them much if we can ! Wish you the best wishes !

You don't eat instant noodles in your local, do you? Instant noodles is very popular nowadays. They're very convenient and delicious. However, they're quite "hot" for body. I can't eat them much. Although, I like them.

the problem with noodles are the salt contents. one small pack of soup contains 200% of our daily required sodium intake.

I like instant noodle myself, and I often eat them too. According to my mom, I shouldn't eat them every single day, because it will really bad for my health definitely. I should cut it down from a daily basis. Although it is convenient, we should know better what is good for our health, and what is not.

I believe that your mother is experience about it. I think that we shouldn't eat instant noodle much. They have little vegetable, it's not good for health. We only eat them when we like and we don't have enough time for cooking.

tkonlionevn the problem is that the flavor while yummy has too much salt in them and will cause eventually high blood pressure. why not get real dried noodles and cook them and add healthy meat and veggies to them.it does not take much longer than heating up the cheap salty not good for you noodles.Noodles are fast to cook and adding some veggies should not take any time either. even fresh chopped tomatoes and onion and celery with roast beef with home cooked noodles would be so much better for you.

I love noodles... any noodles... lol! It's not that complicated to add other things to noodles, I agree, but some people might burn down their kitchen as a result. I think of some of my friends I had back when we all first moved out.... some 20somethings in an apartment kitchen doing experiments end up with 911 calls and the fire department breaking down a door

When I was in Korea, I really like instant noodle because it is not expensive for a poor student like me and Korea instant noodle is very delicious also, no pimples come to my face even though i ate noodle regularly. However I think it is not enough vitamin for your body if you guy eat too much noodle day by day. You can eat noodle when you dont have enough time for cooking or at midnight when you work too late only. Better we eat many type of food every day to keep we are healthy.

I think that they are not that bad as food. But excessively eating instant noodles and not varying food intake can really be unhealthy. Anything excessively eaten is bad. Same goes with food such as instant noodles. However, instant noodles, due to its convenience and easy to cook characteristic, is prone to be eaten all the time especially for those lazy cookers. And some nutritionists point out that not much nutrition can be gotten from such food, aside from the toxic preservatives that they have. Well, I do believe you can go eat them, but don't just eat instant noodles all the time. The key is variety.

I think eating the same food all the time is not healthy what ever the food is. I think it is important for us to rotate our menu. Even water can be unhealthy if we consume them too much.

I love instant noodles too although I have been told by some doctor friends not to eat too much of those because it affects the digestive system. I also observed that after eating noodles, I get full easily but my tummy gets heavier after that. So I guess eating noodles wouldn't hurt that much if eaten in moderation.

Hello tkonlievn. In looking over the responses to your discussion It looks like most agree that instant noodles are not really good for one. I agree with them. The instant noodle has been around since 1958 and they are flashy fried Which is frying for a short period of time in very high heat. In 1971 the instant cup of noodles was introduced. The instant noodle is high in carbohydrates and fat, but low in fiber, vitamins and minerals and some contain way over the recommended daily allowance for salt in the flavoring packets. I was first introduced to the instant noodle by my son when he was in the service. he made them by adding a good melty cheese. His kids loved them. Since then I have made them with peanut butter, honey, and sesame seeds. I also l8ke them with just garlic butter and salt and pepper. They can be made healthier by adding vegetables. In 2000 the Japanese considered the instant noodle to be their best invention.

I like instant noodles... are you talking about nissin or ramen in the packages or the styrofoam cups? LOL! I have some around usually to eat in a pinch, and kids like them, I'd agree they aren't really that healthy, have you looked at the packaging and seen the calories? Many people will also gripe about the salt content, that never bothers me because it's not like I eat 3 batches of noodles a day. I've made veggie stir fry with instant noodles before, I just stir fry up chopped veggies while I heat the noodles in some water, then I drain the noodles and add them to the stir fried veggies and then add the flavor packet, a little water, and some sesame oil and soy sauce. Yum! PS: nothing is really all good or all bad. It depends mostly how often you eat it and how you balance what you eat with daily activity. I get really tired of seeing people attack certain foods while not paying any attention to the fact that almost NOTHING is bad if you eat it in small amounts or not often. We all know that it isn't healthy to eat just instant noodles for 3 meals a day, 30 days a month, or, for that matter, eat 3 meals a day for 30 days at Mcdonalds. Therefore, everyone who says 'never eat this, it's bad for you' are full of it. I seriously doubt most people go that overboard.

I have read an article before that instant noodles takes 2-3 days before it really get digested in our stomach. But, I am not sure with that because I haven't heard anything that would prove it is true. Even doctors eat instant noodles, I see them eat it all the time when I had volunteered working in the hospital. So, I think it is not bad at all as long as you don't eat too much of it.

I like instant noodles though they are extremely bad for health and this is why my grandfather forbid me and his children from having instant noodles. However, I am naughty and still have it when I am not with him simply because instant noodles are really delicious.

Actually for me, you can eat instant noodles but be sure to drink lots of water, you know instant noodles contain much of salt and Monosodium glutamate, that is really bad for our health if we take too much of that substance, kidney is the first organ will be affected. Or better yet, eat noodles moderately :)
