Yes inflation is getting uncontrolled. Government has no control over businessmen. To make over profit they are increasing price of commodities. In this situation life becoming hell of the middle class and low earning people. Government should make control over the unscrupulous businessmen to establish balance in our economy.

Inflation has reared its ugly head in a lot of places. Here in the US it is getting pretty bad--meat has risen 10% and peanut butter 30%. Everything is more expensive. With us, a lot of it is because of oil prices. Here is one of the reasons we have inflation: Oil is paid for in dollars. We are deeply in debt so the government prints more and more dollars that have no backing, they are just paper promises. As more dollars flood the system they are worth less so oil producers demand more of them and the price goes up. That affects all our industries here, especially transportation and manufacturing, so food prices rise. As they rise, people buy less and the prices rise again to compensate for the lack of income. More dollars are printed as the government gives out unemployment checks, welfare benefits and food stamps to help people who can't make ends meet and inflation increases. On and on in a vicious circle. I don't know the cause of India's inflation but inflation is usually because the currency being used is worth less than it used to be for some reason. Our reason is our historic debt which threatens to exceed our Gross National Product but right now equals it.

it is very much expected to go up further. February Inflation was quoted at 8.8% something. Govt if wishes can gear up to control the inflation from any further rise. the important thing is "if" govt wants it or not? exchange rate is putting more pressure as imports gets costly so does the commodities in india. You talk about oil prices...there seems to be just on end.
