The more you expect it to be, the more disappoint you will be.

While, not the same feeling as my subject is, I never expect too much. Just like this time, I ought to be given the salary today. Since I was a new recruit who has only worked for less than half a month, I expect my salary to be half thousand. But I checked my account, and there was more than one thousand in it! I think it is the most exciting thing recently. Have you got any surprises for you didn't expect too much?

That is truthfully the cold harsh truth. I think that when we expect so much in life, more than really if you think about it is likely going to happen, we are going to rather introduce a lot of negativity into our life in many ways. Where we are not going to be able to ever match up with our very lofty expectations, therefore the things that we expect are going to deflate our moods. It is exciting when something does exceed pretty much every expectation that we have put down. While I don't want to go far as to say that we should absolutely lower our expectations, perhaps it is going to be for the best that we set them at a more manageable level. There are times where I got a much better result than I had hoped, and I think we might also work a bit harder subconsciously as well. Where we coast if we expect something too great.
