James Yap, Just Too Overhyped; Gary David, A More Talented Player.

From my vantage point of view, I really think that Gary "El Granada" David of the Powerade Tigers is way more talented than this much-vaunted 2-time PBA MVP James Yap of the BMEG Llamados. They both entered the league on the same year 2004. Yap as the overall 2nd pick whereas David, was only drafted as the 10th overall. Gary David, the league's one of the underrated players, may have had no MVP award in his whole PBA career, is I think has a very vast edge of talent on his sleeve compared to James Yap. In terms of scoring, hustle, guts, stamina and the energy he's bringing to his team, he's a very prolific player, a proof of that is his average points per game of 25 (correct me if I'm wrong) but he even surpasses that quota almost every outing. An unforgettable highlight of his career was during the Philippine Cup when he led his team to a monumental upset over James Yap's BMEg Llamados, beating the latter's team two in a row to capture the last Finals seat against the giant TNT team, although they'd lost the championship, he still managed to bag the conference's BPC honors beating the heavily-favored and statistical points topnotcher Arwind Santos of the Petron Blaze Boosters. Moreover, no single player in the history of the PBA to have had scored at least 30 points per outing for 6 consecutive games, take note of that SIX CONSECUTIVE GAMES, in the playoffs history. James Yap is just too overhyped, the monicker "Big Game" seems to be becoming too unsuitable for him, and it shows now that his team is in dire need of his talent but yet he can't hardly contribute, even reaching a double-digit score on his name is now too difficult for him. He's now becoming "Laos", I'd say. I'm cheering for the BMEG over the Meralco Bolts but it's just so disappointing to see with how he is playing lately, if you're gonna say that's because he has a slight injury, that would not be a cast-iron excuse for a poor performance, As other players like Mark Caguioa among others including David, can easily score even with a much -worse injury than that of him. It's about the heart you have as a player, the resilience even after a very devastating defeat and the sheer finness as well as having that Never Surrender attitude. I think that defines a complete and very talented player like Gary David.

Gary David seems to be on who is carrying a lot on his shoulders these days.He seems to posses what it takes to make his team something of a debate among the fans of both his team and his opponents.Far too many times some players fail to exert or immerse themselves in the game to earn whatever they are salaries or incentives they are paid and it quite right deserving when the media are critical of their performances. This I think will allow them to be more well thinking of their supporters and it is not so much at all time about them them the players.
