Can Murray win grandslams this year 2012?

I am one of those who believe Murray has it to win a few grandslams. He has been in at least 2 grandslam finals that i can remember, but fell short of winning. He has the necessary skills to do it like his super-solid baseline and fantastic retrieving abilities. He also has verious teachniques like his drop shots and highly-consistent defensive lobs, plus he can also volley well. He has beaten Djokovic, Nadal and Federer already so if he meets any of them again in any grandslam finsls this year 2012, he has some good chances to win. My prediction is that he would win his first grandslam this year. What do you think?

He is one of the top 4 tennis players in the last 2-3 years including Djokovic, Federrer, Nadal. Well he surely deserves winning one grandslam though at this period of time Djokovic I think is still just a little better than the rest 3. If he keeps working hard I don't think there will be any reason for him winning a grandslam in this or the next years.

I agree. If his new coach, Ivan Lendl teaches him how to have more mental toughness especially in difficult moments of the game, then in my opinion it's possible for him to take home one grandslam this year. I don't think Djokovic could get all 4 grandslams this year, though it's always a possibility but less likely. Any of those 3 great players behind him would fight to get some of them grandslams.

Well if it's not Murray, it could also be either Nadal or Federer...or at times an unexpected player comes along playing great or a new and talented one comes along and surprisingly grabs one slam. One player I remember is Gustavo Kuerten whom I think got the French Open grand slam championship when he is seeded 137 or something...I can't remember the figures exactly. Anyway, after that Kuerten has proven that it wasn't a hoax and I think in his career he won at least 2 French Open titles and maybe another grandslam...I don't know for sure.

Yeap it is hard for Djokovic to win all 4 grand slams so if Murray would be in top form and mentaly strong when needed he can win one.

He is the most talented players in current arena. On his day he can beat anybody. I personally believe that their is hardly any weakness in his game. He has no special shot from where he can dictate in the rally like the Nadal's helicopter forehand shot, Djokovic powerfully smashing the ball to one corner from where they dicatate in the rally.

Yes, I think he has an overall solid strokes but lacking in aggressiveness. Probably if he can instill more attacking strategies in his game, his game might go to the next level. Anyway his defensive genius often saves him from other player's aggressive play, so I think he needs to find more opportunity to be aggressive himself. Find ways to place his opponents in more defensive positions and attack the net more often is probably one tactic he can do more.

Not as long as Djokovic is around. Yes he has beaten in but not in something like a grand slam final. His will to win always seems to fall short in the big event.

I see your point. Well, hopefully with the help of Lendl he might be able to fix this part of his weakness and put some more mental toughness in him. Then winning grandslams could be more possible someday.

I don't think so. Murray still has to get past Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Being ranked 4, he is fated to face Nadal in the semi-final in all Grand Slams and Master Series. But all players are more motivated, more determined and always give their best in the Grand Slam so sometimes Murray fails to advance surpassing some lower ranked players. He is improving a lot and he has beaten all top 3 players before on several surfaces but he has a long way to go to win a Grand Slam. He may win from 2014 but it depends how he plays and same for his opponents.
