Easter Bunny Traditions

When I was little, I woke up to a basket of candy and little trinkets that had been left by the so-called Easter bunny. It was very exciting when I was little. I am not a parent yet, but now I hear of parents who create baskets like this for their children and others who give them bigger items such as bikes or other large toys for Easter. I have heard of some even giving their children money at Easter time. I personally think a small Easter basket is enough because otherwise it takes away from the real meaning of the holiday like Santa Claus and Christmas sometimes becomes. What are some traditions that you have in your family involving the Easter bunny or what do you think it should be?

Our tradition is to have an easter egg hunt. When the kids were younger we would hide the eggs all over the garden and tell the kids that we had just seen the Easter bunny jump over the wall. They would rush outside to search for their eggs. We would all have a chocolate feast afterwards.
