Hiding Easter Baskets

I've been busy the last few days at work that I haven't gotten to assemble the kids Easter baskets. I have everything but they are not assembled. I feel like a Easter is no different than Christmas with trying to get the kids to bed so I can get their stuff assembled and hid before they wake up in the morning. It's starting to get late and I worked all day and I'd like to just call it a night. But I'm a good egg and want to do something special for them. So it's going to be a long night one kid has a belly ache, one is being a pest, and the other is asleep. I don't think they are ever going to go to bed at this rate. *yawn* I'd say I'd get up early but the kids can hear every creek in the floor and of course they are excited so they will not only go to bed later but get up earlier. *sigh* Do you have the Easter baskets all set to go for Easter morning?

I remember Easter eves like that! Moms are the most sleep-deprived people in the world! Well, I hope your Easter morning went alright. I used to hide the baskets in cupboards and closets and once I hid one in the dryer and left a trail of M&Ms leading up to it so it could be found. It still took awhile and we had such fun! (I always slipped in a Bible story, too, usually at bedtime and we had a birthday cake just like at Christmas.)

All your effort won't go to waste. I find with my mom's dementia such a prominent part of my life, the good memories are few and far between for me to remember. But reading your discussion reminds me of all the effort she went to on Easter, and how much fun we had dyeing eggs. And I'm sure the memories of Easter eggs baskets will stay with them far past when they get to my age.

When I was young I had a really hard time falling asleep before anything exciting like holidays or birthdays so I understand what your kids were feeling. My kids luckily are not like that. They are great sleepers. I got their baskets ready last night about 11pm. I hid them in the microwave. My daughter looked in the bathroom first then checked the freezer and fridge and then found them in the microwave. It took all of a few seconds lol. I didnt think she would find them so easily.

That was indeed fast! I didn't hide them anywhere special just on the bench at the kitchen table. Still took my oldest a few minutes as she was expecting to look for them so she just searched the livingroom! Kinda funny right in the open but didn't even notice.

I did have a couple ready to go for Easter morning. I like to make my own and personalize them for my girls now that they are older. I try to get them little things that are special or unique to their personalities. They always look forward to them too. My daughter that lives on her own called and asked if the Easter bunny had left her a basket. It is her first Easter on her own. Of course he did.

I actually ended up having to assemble a total of seven Easter baskets in the afternoon on Easter day. The reason that happened is because we actually didn't have money to get things for Kathryn and Paul's Easter baskets, so my mother was kind enough to get things for their Easter baskets. Then I found out late on Saturday night that my best friend and her boyfriend hadn't been able to get anything for their children either. Well, my mom came to the rescue again and went and got things from the Dollar Tree to make baskets for their five kids. When I got to Mom's house for her Easter egg hunt, I had to put baskets together for the kids while the eggs were being hidden.

Well, for the baskets, you want to put them in a place where you know that the children won't find them, so a closet, the trunk of the car, the shed, places in the garage, any place that you think that your children won't get into.
