Easter eggs are dyed on holy Thursday? Hmmmm… I have never experienced that tradition or maybe I am not aware. He he. What we did is do nothing here at home because my mom told me that I must suffer or I must grieve, and so we are not allowed to use the computer or we are not allowed to do something that make us satisfied, like if we are really hungry, my mom told to us to suffer. We must do the fasting, but still we break the rules, ha ha ha. We still eat lots of food. Nothing we can do about it because we are really, really, really hungry.

Easter eggs and the bunny are, as Halloween, part of what I call a cultural colonization of my country. For us, before MacDonald and Halloween came to stay, Semana Santa (Holy Week) meant no masses during Fiday and Saturday. Images were covered in churches. Theaters only had movies about the life of Jesus. In most of the houses no red meat was eaten. Then, On Sunday, we would have a feast and mass. No eggs, no bunny. I wonder where did the bunnies come from!

I don't remember when as a child we would dye the eggs and I am not certain that every year was the same to be honest. I do remember the fun of it and being so excited and happy to be doing them. I've thought of dying some this year and I should have but I suppose there may be some discounted kits and I can buy a carton of eggs and do this with my niece and nephew next weekend.

this is very nice. I am also happy when we paint eggs and if I become a child. I love playing with paint and stain, however, only once a year. nice painting to you. thanks for the reply. nice day!

Have you thought of the relevance of eggs during Easter? You are celebrating a Christian event yet practicing it in an un-Christian way.
