Steven Hawking was on The Big Bang Theory the other night. Hawking is considered to be the most brilliant genius since Einstein. At the age of about 20 he started showing signs of a disease similar to what is commonly called Lou Gehrig's disease which eventually deprived him of all ability to move and to talk. But his mind continues to be brilliant. He is famous for many theoretical math and Physics concepts. He is also widely known for the communicating that he does via a computer with a computer generated voice. His appearance on the show demonstrated that while the disease has rendered him mostly unable to move or even to form facial expressions, at age 70 he is still sharp and brave enough to appear on such a show. When he was originally diagnosed with the disease around age 20, he was only given a few years to live. Fortunately for science and math and for our knowledge of the Universe, he showed that prediction to be very wrong.

Steve William Hawking one of the greatest scientists of all times appearing on one of the greatest sitcoms of all times The Big Bang Theory is quite interesting. Steve hawking has been key I developing several theories in the world of physics. His ex-wife termed him as an atheist. Steve Hawking suffers from a disease that has rendered him speechless and paralyzed. He communicates using a speech generating device.

I have watched that episode. I never thought he would actually guest in that sitcom since they sometimes make fun of his computer generated voice.

Isn't it strange how even given his disabilities Mr Hawking is able to use his brain potential probably more than anyone else on earth so far. Most of us only realise a tenth of our brain potential...I wonder how much Mr Hawking is using?
Isaac Asimov was a very accomplished guy too. He wrote dictionaries and mathematics text books as well as science fiction novels. Maybe not in the same class as Mr Hawking but still up there in my respect and admiration.

I wondered what he has since Lou Gehrig's disease doesn't let you live that long. I think it's awesome he felt comfortable enough to go on that show. And that he doesn't take himself too seriously since obviously Howard makes fun of him in the episode. And it isn't in a mean way, I know. I think it's great he gets enjoyment out of so many things. He hasn't let his health get in the way of taking advanatge of good oppurtunities.

I did not know what was wrong with him. I did know he was very brilliant despite his disability.
