Can be kind of negative

I've Been Listening to rap almost all my life. Its always been my choice of music and do to the passion, the artist put into the song. Sometimes I just think rap comes out so depressing just like all other types of songs under a different genre's. I always chose rap because it was always more catchy to me then other styles of music, but i still have to agree its negative and possibly a downer subconsciously.

Rap really isn't much different than any other kind of music. If you really think about it yeah, it's depressing. The struggles they go through growing up in the gutter, but that's life and life can be depressing. Just like country music or rock, they are all about life. Life is different for every body, that is why there are so many different styles of music.

Rap music isn’t all bad. Like all genres of music, there are rap songs with positive lyrics that are not necessarily religious. Rap is a genre of music that is attractive to some people but most of the rap music played on the air is negative. If you can shop around, you will find some positive rap music. Try Will Smith’s music.

Welcome to myLot! I have never enjoyed rap music (is it really music?) but maybe that is because I am older than those for whom it is made for. I have to agree that it is negative and not really a pick-me-up. Do younot enjoy any other style of music at all?

You have been listening to rap almost all your life?, music genres all have there plus and minuses but I think in your case it's just too much of something that's why it becomes depressing, try to experiment on new ones, yeah welcome to Mylot
