According to a survey that I have read Filipinos are the "one of the least rude" countries for foreigners. Based on poll conducted by Skyscanner, Philippines was among the top three of the least rude countries to foreigners. On top of this list as the least rude was Brazil. Then followed by the Carribean Islands and third on this list was the Philippines. According to this same survey, the MOST RUDE countries to foreigners was France. Apparently, because of a difference in culture, most tourists around the world consider the French as the most rude. According to the article, this is mostly due to their abrupt and curt nature especially in dealing with foreigners. Second on the list were the Russians and third on the list were the Brits. Well, as a Filipino I am happy to hear about the results of the survey. I have always believed that warm and friendly culture is one of the reasons why most foreigners visit our country. So to all those who are planning to visit the Philippines, you are most welcome! It's more fun here in the Philippines!

That's good to know. It helps too that most Filipinos speak English. I think that's one of the reason probably why French were considered rude. They are not too willing to speak English to foreigners / tourists.

You have a very good point there sishy. Language plays an important role in communication. As a tourist, it wouldn't be easy for you to get what you want or go to places you want to go if there is no language barrier. Aside from the fact that most of our citizens can speak English, we Filipinos are also very friendly to tourists. Whenever a tourist comes to us for help, we are more than willing to assist them. Filipinos have an innate attitude of entertaining guests and welcome them to our home. This is clearly seen whenever we have visitors at home. We usually offer them the best. I think that's the main reason why tourists consider us as one of the least rude. Because of not innate personality that we have.

When I was in college, I had some Filipino friends and they would always invited me over whenever they had some gatherings. I'd always join because each time I'd always feel welcomed. There were always plenty of food, drinks, entertainment, and just a happy, friendly atmosphere. After meeting a few times, I even started calling my friends' relatives as aunties and uncles as well...

I better proof read my work before I post them. I can see lot of typos on my post above. Anyway, I was under the impression that you are a Filipino. I wonder what gave me that idea but I guess I was wrong. Oh yeah, I'm glad that you find the Filipnos pleasing. That sounds very flattering. I guess that's just our innate within us. We value relationships more than anything else. I guess that is how most of us are brought up. So now that it's established that you are not a Filipino may I ask where you are from? And I'd like to hear more about your culture. Do you come from a friendly place too? You are not French, Russian, or British by any chance, are you? Not that it matters though. Lol

hi there, it is nice to hear the news about us Filipinos being the least rude people. but it also made me think about how they sometimes treat fellow Filipinos heheheh it is way different to how they treat foreigners. but i still believe we are all very nice and i hope we can all continue that.

i say that because i observe i have been to many places and even in the news that Filipino passengers on the plane would complain that they are treated differently by flight attendants and when it comes to foreigners, it is better. i bet you are not that aware of that. but i am glad you also just focus on the good side but we can't deny the fact. it happens everywhere not just here in the country.

Why would you say that we treat fellow Filipinos differently? In my opinion, I think we treat everyone the same. Well, I'm speaking for myself though. In my observation, we do treat our Filipinos with kindness and warmth. I am not rude a person so if ever someone needs my help, foreigner or not, it doesn't matter. And also, whenever we have visitors at home we always welcome them. Just like how we would welcome a foreigner to our country, my family also welcomes our house guests gladly. We Filipinos give our best to our house guests... And I believe that is why we can easily welcome tourists because we learned those kinds of traits at home...

We are known to be a very hospitable country and people itself. Even here outside Philippines still employers like Filipinos because of our dedication to every work assigned to us.

Wow! That is great news. It means that foreigners visiting our country recognizes our hospitality and effort to make every tourist feel at home in our country and experience what it is like to be a Filipino. It will surely add up to reasons why tourist should visit Philippines. Because I personally believe that it is not only the place that counts when you are exploring and vacationing. It should be a total package, an experience to be kept as one of the unforgettables. It is instead more fun in the Philippines especially when they see our welcoming smiles.

I bet it's true! Because I've noticed that many Filipinos were really kind to foreigners. They even offer shelter to some for the foreigners to stay with them. Besides, Filipinos are well known for their good attitudes towards treating foreign people.
