Cosplay 101: What are the necessary things to have for beginners?

I started cosplaying since 3rd year High School. I cosplayed as Kurapika from Hunter x Hunter and it was my favorite character ever since. I even had the costume even that I don't know cosplaying ever since. It was finally I realized that I was cosplaying as I join a certain group of cosplayers joining every events competing for contest before. Cosplaying was sort of a game before to other teams. They make costume to compete against other clan or groups. Nowadays it appears that it is now a hobby and an art of expressing love for a certain anime or comic character; or probably simply for fun. I'm about to open a blog about this but I also want to know your thoughts or questions about cosplaying. Then I'll take turns answering it. Enjoy exploring the art of cosplaying :D
