Jewelry is good or bad for children?

I don't let my daughter wear any jewelry coz one time my sister gave her a silver necklace with a heart pendant, and my daughter kept on chewing the pendant and I removed it from her coz it is very dangerous that it can choke her.

I agree it's not a good idea to give jewelry to children. They can swallow it or lose it easily. For bigger kids I think it's okay f it doesn't irritate their skin, but I would keep the gold or silver jewelry for later. They don't know the value of it and usually can't take care of it.

I agree, it would probably be dangerous for young young kids. I think "play" jewelery is fine for pre-teens (or even a little bit younger, like 8-9 year olds who know better than to try to 'eat it' or whatever, you know), but it's not really necessary for a kid to have REAL jewelry. It makes no sense! Kids don't care about this kind of stuff! Unless they are playing dress up. I would save my money and buy them a toy or something instead.

I think jewelry is not good for small kids also, they may get allergy or swallow it in some cases. However, many parents still think it will be ok and still wear necklace or bracelet for their kids. My cousin does the same even though i warned her, but she said i worry too far, hix.
