Hey there gang,
Barry gave me a good scare there jumping out of the tank like that, i don't know why he did that and what is even more add is that there is a cover on top of it like a plastic pannel and there is only a few millimeters of gap off course he can fit right through no question but man that would had been precise and efficient jumping on his part, anyway he seems to be okay now, i hope he didn't have any injuries internally it is like a two feet fall, what say you guys?

OH my gosh you're very lucky he lived!! You must have been really close to him when he jumped out and you were able to save him right away.
Years ago I had a goldfish in a simple little goldfish bowl and one morning he decided to jump out. Nobody was around when he jumped so he ended up dying and it was pretty sad:(
I wonder what makes fish jump out of their tanks like that.

Poor water quality, space and lack of oxygen can sometimes be a huge part of why they jump.

A two feet fall? Barry must be a strong fish. Did you try any medications on him or he just got back up by fighting it. You may also need to find Barry a bigger aquarium because it seems he has outgrown his present water dish, just saying, it’s all about being cautious. You never know when he is going to jump out next, and you won’t be around.

Oh ive put out a plastic screen on top of the tank so that eeven if he jumps again i wont have to worry about it, sad to say that most fighting fish will only live as long as 1 year and i will only have barry not for long anymore but i'm happy i'm with him right now since i cant have a dog with me, and he is the type that is reactive to you, unlike other fish that tends to just swim away and has no kinda reaction he is kinda reactive. Nice fish if the time comes that he leaves i'm gonna get another fighting fish and i am gonna name him carrey.

Fish are generally quite good, in my limited experience of them doing so, at coping with a fall.
Now to get to the root of the reason as to why Barry jumped out of his tank.
Questions:
What sort of fish is Barry and how big is he?
How big (dimensions/litres) and what shape is his tank?
Have you tested your water for ammonia/nitrates recently?
How much and how often do you feed Barry?
Are there any other fish in with him?

I think he saw a fly fly over his tank them maybe tried to catch it.
He is a fighting fish
He is small about one inch long
The tank is 5 gallons
i always make sure that i treat the water before i put hime there
Twice a day morning then afternoon i feed him
Just barry i want him to be alone for the moment.
