Work schedule changes

Hi there, When I went to work last night I noticed that we have working schedule changes to accommodate additional load of work. I am disappointed and irritated for the overtime schedules. I mean we were given schedules so that we can attend our personal matters on the free time and this sudden changes disrupted my plans. I have important matters to attend to and I have it all planned out but now I have to sacrifice them because of work. agggrr, why cant just they inform us ahead? It seems that they are already violating my right but I cant do anything about it. I cannot decline or even not show up on my OTs because that means compromising my other co-workers. Am I just too hard on myself for feeling irritated everytime this happens? I do not think so. Don't you hate it when your perfect laid plans get disrupted due to work?

OMG - You should be happy you have a job, as there are so .... many of us out of work. Yes, change of plans is a hassle, but these days, everyone needs to do some sacrificing.

I agree with you. Having a job is more important.

Yes, I am happy that I have a job but I am not happy when they do those sudden changes of schedules. We were given schedules so that we can adjust our personal errands because i work in a shifting schedule and if they do that often then I will not have a time for my review. And it is important for me to attend my reviews because I plan to work abroad. Working in the place were I am now is not enough, even the OT fee id not worth it. And that is the reason why people do not have jobs. It is evident that we are undermanned but they opted for OTs than hiring more. I still have a life to live and should not solely revolve on work. Just complaining, :p but you know it will always be work first before self because like you said it pays. I just hate it when my plans gets ruin.

It is a very annoying feeling when you plan something and you wanted that badly and then suddenly the job interferes. But ofcourse you have a job and so be happy thinking that you are earning in life and not like people who dont. I was working but i quit as i went for higher studies in Animation industry. Now i dont have any job and i have been struggling to get one in this particular area. So i know how it feels when you are sitting idle jobless. Lots of factors come in that since we are social beings. But definitely always working is also bad. Life is short so we should try to get what we want mostly and not what others want. Just try to love your job or try to get a job that you love the most if possible. At the end all i have to say is give importance to job not greatly but a little more than most of the things (i mean avoidable things).

When you do not have a job, you complain because you want one. And if you have a job, you also complain because you are overworked. Hehehe. I think that is our nature.

Sometimes, I planned a day before but there are times sudden change happened due to work schedule. That really s*cks but I can easily accept it. It will be the part of the work (sudden changes). However, if there are instances that I am not sure if there will be changes in work schedule, I'll just file my vacation leave so I don't have to worry if I am going to attend important matters that has been planned ahead.

That's how life is. Imagine two circles one at the top of the other. The top or inner circle is what you expect to happen while the outer circle corresponds to the hard to predict events. It's a matter of knowing when those at the outer circle will enter in the inner circle. Meaning, there's got to be something changing the events in the near future but its hard to say which. Then what's at the inner circle had to go at the outer circle. In other words, don't expect things you expect to happen, happen. XD

this is one of my hatest things, having plans and not pushing through with it. this sounds so frustating, really. i hate schedule changes, it just ruins everything you have planned.

I hate it when that happens! I plan my day and I don't like having conflicts in it because something comes up, especially when that something came up because of poor planning. Sadly, we can't even grumble about it in the risk of losing our boss's/the company's trust. I feel you here!
