what would i do with my favorite cat? I have four cats three are always in our house the other male is fond of going outside until time came he never go home frequently. It is maybe because he would always be barked by our dogs whenever he goes home. I want him to go home always everyday though he would never stay in but it never did; instead he always outside eating spoiled foods outside... What's the best thing to do my friend... Please advise... Mobhomeir here 041112

I only had one cat that went outside. He stayed with me on the porch though and rarely stayed out for long. He wouldn't go out if it were cold or rainy. I was glad he was like that. I would have been VERY worried if he was out a long time, or missing. He was fixed, and that seemed to have a lot to do with it. Try that and see if it changes him at all.

Hello my co-cat lover friend. What do you mean by "fixed"? Some of our friends said sometimes its cat's breeding, I mean there are kinds of cats that never really fond of going outside not unless looking for a mate. But in my cat's case, he almost always stays outside. I think it is because there were already more cats in the house next to him and as what I observe he is not playing with them this means he doesn't like other cats in the house. Thanks for responding my dear friend..hope you're always doing well. Mobhomeir here 041312

When I say "fixed" I am referring to having him spayed. If that is done he can't reproduce and doesn't have the urge to go out and look for a female in heat.

I think your cat may go out to find his gals. My mom's cat used to be like yours, and nothing can keep him at home also. Cat and dog may find food outside, then don't worry so much about him. He will be back home at daytime. If you don't want he goes out anymore, just keep him in his own house, but he may sound a lots...^^

You're right ryanong, there once was a time grounded him inside but he was so noisy. We all got irritated we lose him free but he would always come every now and then. The longest time he never appeared to us was two days and we were so worried only to find out he found he's mate . Cats are like human once in love he/she would fight for the love no matter what it takes even with out going home for how many days just to be with woman in love.. Nice weekend.. Keep taking care of your cat as long as you can, but if you really cannot take care of the cat, then turn the cat over to someone who can take care of him.

Yes rogue that is our problem now. Before he would have to go home from outside once or twice a day. Now it's been two day i think he never visited us. But, he's just outside next door. It is good our neighbor next door is animal lover and the husband which is a Briton likes our cat. Well, as long as our cat is just next door and safe we don't have to worry. What would make us worry is when time comes he would go out from our village and would never come back. Thanks my friend for responding... Nice day ahead.. Mobhomeir here 041212

All of my cats come and go as they please through the cat door. My top cat, Sandy, does not like kittens. So, he will live outside until all of the kittens are gone, or grown up. He just comes home to eat.

Oh I see now. That's maybe the reason because we had already two new ones after him besides our dogs outside never likes him. The problem is I could never dispose the three dogs outside and the two cats inside..huh boy!!! We'll just see.. Thanks for responding my friend.. Mobhomeir here 041212

I hope that he isn't eating spoiled food outside, that will make him very ill and possibly die. Perhaps he is afraid of the dogs, too. I'm not sure what to do, I had a cat like that too who liked to be out and there was no way to keep him in as he knew how to get his way. He was neutered also and still sprayed in the house. Perhaps you can try to move the dogs somewhere where they can't see the cat coming home? I'm not sure, I would think the cat is not neutered and is gone looking for some females so maybe if you had him fixed as we say here (neutered) by a vet he would be more at ease coming home more often.

Hi nailtech, actually that cat grown up with our dogs as he's playmate. We have three dogs inside and three outside. He's friends are those dogs inside. When he learned how to go outside and found some cats including his mate he seldom go home anymore. I have another male cat but I was wondering the new cat never goes outside he's just inside. Maybe the difference is the breeding of the cat I guess. Well, thanks for responding and the concerns of our cat. Mobhomeir here 041212

One of ours is like that. He patrols our yard and the neighbors and rarely comes in the house. He is just not the indoor cat type. They all have personalities just like people and some just do not like to be captive ion a home. Try feeding him outside a little bit each day so he comes at least home most days. entice him in the house when the dogs are outside to make him feel a little more at ease there.

There has to be a reason why your cat is leaving often. A male cat can go out looking for mates and can come back after a few days or never come back. Often than not, cats do not leave the house especially if they are well fed. Find out why your cat prefers out there than your house.
