If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? What's your opinion on that one, because I can give myself an reasonable explanation.

I think that because for some reason, we have really convinced ourselves that we have to do them. And in some cases, we kind of have to do. But in many cases, we have been lead to believe. I think that there are times where we get lead to things that are not to our liking, but we just get that stirring right in our minds, that we have to do them or else. That is really it in a nutshell. We don't like them, but we feel as if we have to do them. It is funny how things like that work out sometimes, where we are just going to just talk ourselves into doing these things. Of course sometimes we do them for the sake of someone else. Or that is just the explanation that we hand off to ourselves.

We do things we do not like even if we consider life to be short because that is what the situation demands. It we do not do them then we are making our lives even shorter because we failed to adapt to the changes brought by life. Sometimes, we just have to do it to survive. :D

Life is full of responsibility. To be a good person in other people's eyes, we have to take the responsibility, so we have to do many things we do not like. But I think to me, when I feel that I want to do something, I will make a plan for it, and then do enough prepare work and make it at last. I do not like left liked things undone. If you send out to do what you want, you will make it some day in the future.

Good point, although sometimes in life we have to do things we don't necessarily enjoy just to get by. For example, working. A lot of us work 2-3 jobs just to make ends meet. And we don't do it because we enjoy it, we do it because it's what we have to do. Of course we can't ignore the finer things in life - love, happiness, laughter, traveling - but we can't ignore the day to day stuff either just because it's not fun. We need to find a balance in doing the things we have to do (responsibilities) and letting loose/having fun/having a meaningful life. It's all about moderation, baby!

Well I know that saying, but it not always true,,,short for'some but not for all...and even the older ones still do things they like I am sure....its just part of live and evolution... Being that we don't live in a perfect world, there are bound to be things and situtation that beyond our control but we still must deal with... I think we can only do better if we know better!!!!!!!

Because we don't have a choice. For instance in order to survive(buy food, clothing, shelter), we need money, in order to get money we have to work, be it for other people or for yourself you've to work. No work+ No money= Can't survive. And trust lots of us wish we wouldn't have to get out of bed early in the morning, and go to our dreary jobs, well actually I love my job, but you get what I mean. Life's short yes, but in order to enjoy the short life we have sometimes we've got to do the things we don't like or want to do. That how's the cycle goes.
