I have an iPhone, but am due for an upgrade. My friends are telling me to get an android, but I am loyal to my iPhone. I promised them that if more people say android on here, id go with it. So what do you guys think? Thanks!

I'm an Android user. I'm actually using one of the cheapest Android phone in the market, the Samsung Galaxy Y. I love the phone. The camera isn't bad and the games and applications available for it, although a little less that that of the iOS' (according to last year's tech news), are numerous. Go for Android. At least, if you aren't satisfied with it, you can switch back to iPhones on your next upgrade. After all, what we're after is the best of both gadgets. Some people will always prefer iPhones while others will always be Android lovers. One thing I am able to say about Android is that they have multiple emulators ranging from PS1, SNES, Gameboy and even Stratagus (where you can play StarCraft 1 and WarCraft). Good luck.

Thanks guys. The only factor I just realized is that since Ive been with the iPhone so long, im grandfathered into the data plan with free youtube and stuff. Thats why it is hard to let go.

I got a cheap android phone here too. I have the SE x10 Xperia mini pro. I think it is better to get a cheap android phone that you can easily replace it and then you can keep the rest for a good laptop or desktop :)

I am using Samsung Galaxy SII and am enjoying it which I think the same experience that I will have with an iPhone. It has an 8 megapixel camera and memory is 2GB, storage is 16GB upgradable up to 32GB.

Android user here. Well it depends on how much money you want to spend. If you want a cheap smartphone then definitely android is the top choice, now if you want to pay more for a smartphone then It's a close call. I'm still going for Android since a lot of the Android phones have better cpu power and memory than an iPhone.

I think you should choose whichever phone you think will meet your needs best. Will switching to Android give you a better upgrade discount on your new phone? Would you need a different data package? Will there be extra charges that you have to pay each month should you switch now? Are there apps you'd like to use that are available for Android but not the iOS? Based on my personal experience, which is really limited to the iOS on a 3rd-generation iPod Touch and my husband's old LG Optimus, I would choose an Android device made by LG over any iPhone. I like that the Optimus can use mini SD cards, and we never had a problem moving media files over to it. My iPod, on the other hand, loves to eat my entire music library when I try to add a few new songs to it.
