Do you wish sometimes that you never grow old.

I was out today to pay my bills, electric, water and house. Suddenly in the middle of the line of people who will pay too, I felt sad and I wish that I never grew old like this with lots of responsibilities. I remember when I was a kid, playing and going to school is my only responsibility and now that I'm old and have my own family I have to deal with it. It is sad because I will loose again the money in my pocket because of it, that I never experience before when I was a kid. But that's life we can't stop what is supposed to happen. There are things in life we don’t want to happen, but have to accept.

hello lyn, Who wants to grow old anyway (hehehe) just kidding. When my highschool classmate married or should I say got pregnant at the very young age,I had a big question in mind- how it is like to have a baby- to have a family. How to budget money etc- (lols) Maybe because I am too carefree by that time, yes, we don't worry about bills, or tuition fees whatsoever. I also wish to go back to the childhood days or fun and being stress free

I never thought that before when I get married and be pregnant at the age of 19. I only knew that I was about to escape to the shadow of my parents.

There are lots of answers for every question and they all depend on our experiences. I got married and had my first baby 4 days before my 19th birthday. All I could think of, when I got married, was that I was marrying the most awesome man in the world. I kept on thinking like that for the next 40 years, although he was by no means perfect.

i don't care what they say having to get old sucks. if it doesn't we wouldn't be having this conversation, or at least not in the way we are having it. no one wants to be old and wrinkled, ugly, tired, and sick. you live all your youth struggling so badly that you can't even recognize the luck you have and being young. by the time you do, it's time for it to be all over....that's it rocking chair time. no body wants you, they just want to keep you alive. lol. doesn't sound fun to me. i don't want to die young, at the same time. i am not looking forward to getting old.

That's for sure....there is no way to stop getting old....but you can do it gracefully and not be really upset about it. There are tons of good things about getting old. I would never want to go back and be young again....however they could slow down the aging thing! LOL

sometimes i wish i am just a child too. ironically when you are small you wish to grow up the soonest. we want the independence but hated responsibilities often times. we tend to rush about our life, gain independence and so on then, comes the responsibilities. you are right, we need to accept things as there are because it will happen. happy mylotting!

I had an extremely carefree and a freewheeling childhood. No household responsibilities, no burden, no worries...just a cheery and a childhood. Even now I don't have any such responsibility on me, I earn just because I like earning and spending my money, but I really miss those sweet, innocent, fun and frolic days. What I miss the most is my wellness because due to some health issues I am bedridden now. You have very rightly said, "There are things in life we don't want to happen, but have to accept".

Yes, there have been many times as I have gotten older, I look at people and situations in life, and wish that time could be switched back around and I could be young again. I truly have wished this many times, but now looking at my life, even at the age I am now, life is only beginning, and it is up to me what I decide to do with it, and live on from here.

When I was a kid, I went through enough abuse that I really thought I would die before I reach the age to leave. I have always have a fear of old people or growing old. I think it is because I suffered from so much abuse as a child that I fear growing old, as I feared in to turning in to an abuser myself. Luckily I stopped the cycle with my own kids. I love being able to take care of responsibilities as an adult and have some control over my life in general.

This is true. Sometimes in our lives we also wish to turn back the time when we were kids. No problems, no worries, no responsibilities. When we experience hardships we tend to imagine being little kids with a life minus stress due to deadlines, monthly dues, etc. But it's life. It's very true that life is not pure happiness. Yes we had it when we were young, but when we grow old, we need to face another phase of our lives. And that includes responsibilities and duties we need to perform in order to become fulfilled. It is never a success, a life which is pure happiness, even those who have all, riches, fame, power, still have to face trials and challenges in life. And that's life!

A very interesting question but...what exactly is that you don't want or like? Is it responsibilities or aging?

I guess responsibilities is what differentiates an adult from a child. However we are always growing in our powers of understanding and how to handle responsibilities in a proper way. If we can learn to be happy at whatever stage we are at then maybe every day can be good. have a pleasant day!

Well, we all have those childhood memories that we just can't hold back. I for one don't want to grow up, even though I am, but still. I look back at my adolescence and realize that I wish I could go back. The fun I had as a child and the innocence too. But for now, I will just have to remember the good times and just keep on living.

Growing older.. Taking up responsibilities etc.. etc.. All of these have to be faced by us at some time during our lives. When your born, u r completely dependent upon your parents... As you grow older, u still need your parents' to help you & guide you... In your teens, your parents begin taking a back seat in your lives & friends have a more commanding effect on your life & decisions. But, parents never fade out of your life, even then... As time goes on, u get to college.. then start working etc.. etc, u completely depend upon your experiences, knowledge & so on... Its the "circle of life". But, I don't feel that parents start fading out of your life even when you are in your 30's, 40's or even 50's... The only difference is now u r taking care of your parents & u still look to them for certain life decisions. You have to grow old.. Its a part of life. What one needs to understand is how one handles old age - gracefully or cynically... ??!!

I'd say sometimes I'd like to back just for nostalgia, but I don't feel as if I want to be a kid. I'd really suffer from not being able to choose freely, to go anywhere I want to go without needing an adult to supervise me, to know nothing of the world...

How sad that you are feeling this way. It is hard sometimes to be grown up, to be an adult. We feel the weight of our responsibilities and forget the things that we should be thankful for, the things that should be giving us joy and satisfaction. Things like a family and laughter and love, a job so we can earn money to look after the family and a roof over our heads. Most people have so much to be thankful for yet they are sad and dissatisfied.

our childhood is of course a memorable part of our lives. it is also a preparation for our adult stage where we get and assume responsibilities. as human beings, we can not escape and deny the responsibilities that come our way as family persons and workers. we need those responsibility to fulfill our role as members of humanity. in my case, i do not mind having those responsibilities.

Well, when you get even older, sometimes you have more money and less responsibilities than when you were raising children. My birthday is tomorrow and I will be turning 60. I didn't feel "old" until I realized that I will be leaving my 50's behind. NOW I feel old and I don't like it, although it is easier to deal with the responsibilities of life without having children to pay for. I have two sons who are both grown and have jobs (and bills) of their own. All I have to worry about is myself and my two dogs. It is a bit easier than it was 20 years ago, at least financially. I have time to work on my vegetable garden, collect the fruit I grow and preserve it for later use, make my own clothes, etc. which makes it easier to pay the bills. In answer to your question, YES! I do wish I wouldn't grow old! I wish science would discover a way to reverse aging so I could begin to grow younger instead.

I mostly wish my body would grow old at the same pace as my head. It seems that parts of my body get older than others. So, I still have desires and wishes and I cannot do it. My mind wants to run and bend. The real body will not do it anymore. It´s not nice

I love growing old. I love seeing gray hair. Im not joking either. I always wanted to be older so that people would take me seriously. Even now, being 36, people still say, "oh, your just a pup." Its ok, but I have a baby face when I shave, and they just see this young man. I just dont want the pain involved with the age..hehehe. Have a great day.

That's what I've done when I'm still active in my career in dancing since I'm a petite and baby looking face they don't feel like dancing with me because they told me I'm just like a teenager. I put lots of make up in face to looked mature.
