Hello. I heard a lot about green tea. Some said it has caffeine, other that it doesn't . Some say it's good for your health to drink it for a long period of time 3-4 weeks, others that you should drink it for max 2 weeks. Some say it's a good way to be healthier and live longer. What do you say ? Do you know if it is good and what it is good for ?

Green tea does have caffeine in but you can buy decaffeinated varieties, lots of tea companies sell them. Medical research has shown that drinking green tea can lower cholesterol, prevent or decrease the growth of cancer cells (polyphenols), it can boost metabolism (catechins) and therefore aids weight loss, contains antioxidants, the flavonoids it contains can serve as a barrier to infection, theanine is known to produce the 'calm' effects when drinking green tea, protects against heart disease, the list goes on.

Oh and to add, just in case you're thinking about giving green tea a whirl - be aware that you can drink too much. Most health experts recommend 3-5 cups a day. Most of the side effects of green tea are linked to excessive caffeine consumption, as is the case with black and white tea. Look out for signs of dizziness, shaking, stomach upsets, nausea, trouble relaxing.

Don't quote me on this but I have heard that Japanese (and other people of Asia) drink tea daily and they are known for aging very well and being healthy. I know that green tea is full of antioxidants which help fight free radicals and other things. You should definitely look up more information on it because it does have benefits. But I personally think that tea is gross...
