won't win a championship!!! not this year!!! not next year!!! not ever until they get a legit point guard and they learn how to play as a team. granted, they are an extremely talented team with three superstars in lebron james, chris bosh, and dwayne wade. they have good solid role players in shane battier, mike miller, and ron turiaf. i'll stretch it a bit and say that they can perhaps get five to ten minutes of solid basketball from juwan howard. however, until they learn to play team ball, they won't win a championship. yes, they will win games, yes they will win a play-off series but i doubt if they win an nba championship. they can't just go to a game and go through the motions and decide when to turn it on and still expect to win the game. case in point are the past two games they had against boston and chicago. undoubtedly, those are currently two of the best teams in the east. you'd expect miami to show up and deliver a statement game against potential eastern conference finals' rivalries but instead in both games the miami heat churn out sub-par performances and lose both games big time!!! anyway, another thing that the heat need is a pure pass first point guard. the heat need to sign either jason kidd or steve nash. not sure if they have the cap space to sign either player or if either one would sign with the heat in the first place but the heat really need a steadying presence during crunch time. mario chalmers isn't a pure point guard, i think he is more of a shooting guard and him playing the point does more harm than good for miami. anyway, i'd love to be wrong and have miami heat win the nba championship this season but i just don't see it yet. so fellow nba fans, what's your take on miami heat's chances of winning the nba championship this season? feel free to chime in fellow mylotters.

i think one team can't have it all. the current miami heat can win a championship. it has the stars, coach, and necessary sentiment - being the loser in the past nba finals. the members of the team that they are special. and they can perform to the expectation. the thing that is holding them back is themselves. they do not perform to their level. they can win games, they can win playoff series, and they can win nba finals; if the team runs as a team.
