Have you ever had tonsillitis or quinsy??

Last week I had a really bad throat and my partner rang an ambulance for me. I felt really daft going to hospital for a sore throat but am glad I did as it turns out I had quinsy. A large abscess in my throat which the doctors had to drain. I was in hospital for 3 nights. I was scared and lonely and as my partner doesnt drive, he couldnt visit often especially as he was looking after our 2 year son. Though I was glad to be discharged as I was getting really homesick, missing my son and having no one to talk as the last night I was the only one in the room. What is your worst hospital stay??? What illnesses have you had???

I am pleased that you are home again, that must have been quite a scare for you. As you know I have recently had a stay in hospital for cancer surgery. I would have killed for a private room! Or at least one not shared with the dying (painfully and surprisingly not noisily but there nurses were) and a lunatic hell bent on removing is IV lines so that he could call the "Boss" (his not mine) and "The Chief of Police". My final night was awful with the noisiest nursing shift plus all the other moans and groans from patients that could not sleep because they were being moved around to make way for late entrants to "Male Surgical". That said my care was superb and I would not want it thought differently; but I was never so pleased to escape and I think that the ward Dr knew it too as he made sure that I got away as quickly and safely as I could.

I dont think any hospital stay is pleasant but am glad you were cared for nicely even though it wasnt the peaceful stay. My first few nights I was sharing a room with 3 others but could hear everyone from the other rooms. They all got discharged in the same afternoon so my last night I was in the room one my own and weirdly enough I couldnt sleep - it was too quiet even in the other rooms!!!! Im glad we are both on the mend and lets hope we both stay out off hospitals now.

I have so far no practical experience of tonsillitis or quinsy as a patient but being a homeopath I have personally treated many patients suffering from tonsillitis or quinsy.
