People who are vegetarians by food habits are generally peace loving and calm. Are they more caring towards animals and plants?Since non vegetarians consume meat are they cruel towards animals and do not care for their welfare?

The first thing that comes to my mind, when I'm asked this is that we may not know what plants "feel"-just because they don't have faces on which we can see their pain, doesn't mean that they don't have souls (I find, for example, meat-eating plants' "deeds", sunflowers' turning their heads to the sun and some cactuses' shooting their thorns quite interesting in this sense). Also, I don't think I'm cruel for eating meat. Of course, how these animals are kept and stuff should be changed, but I believe that we (especially the kids) kind of need those kind of proteins. Oh, and there is no person/type of person more aggressive than hardcore PETA activists... what they do to people who don't agree with them is insane. They are violent, aggressive (both physically and mentally), manipulate people and so on and so forth.

There is little truth as to the difference in behavioral patterns of vegetarians and non-vegetarians.While it is presumed that most vegetarians are sanguine in their outlook ,one could never presuppose that their non-vegetarian counterparts act in a vile manner and have cruel manners to follow.

The very act of slaughtering an animal is considered cruel. Also it is medically proved that non veggies are more aggressive in nature compared to veggies.

I don't think the difference between the two is so clear cut! I know some vegetarians who are very selfish and do not seem to care much for anybody or anything except themselves!

Being selfish is one thing and being cruel to animals is another. Even non vegs can be selfish. But atleast these veggies by not eating or hurting animals are being less cruel than we meet eaters personally i too think that no matter how much we justify eating meat we are cruel in some ways

I do not think so. I think eat vegetable is a habit, sometimes a cultural habit nothing to do with kindhearted. In ancient time, most of Chinese were vegeterians, for they do not have money to buy meat. That was the very reason for them being vegeterians. If they can have choice, I do not think they would choose to be vegeterians.

Since most non veggies dont mind slaughtering animals for food they are considered aggressive and cruel. Its medically proved that non veg food does make a person very aggressive

We cannot say through this..Vegetarians can be cruel towards animals..they may kill animals but they won't eat..Non-veg may eat them but we cannot say that they are cruel..

Non veggies by their nature of food are more aggressive and treat everyone harshly including animals. But veggies are more mild natured. Ofcourse there are some amongst them who can be cruel but by and large they are soft and handle things very gently even with animals

you can't really judge or say one way is cruel and another is kind, just because they way people have their food, doesn't make you a better or lesser person if you are a meat eater or a vegetarian. Makes no sense to me. Mind you I am a meat eater but would like to think the animal I am about to eat has had a happy carefree life...lol but doesn't mean to say I am cruel because I want them for my dinner. Vegetables plants and vegetation are also living organisims also, but they don't make a noise when they are cut up and boiled. So am I being cruel to plants and other living matter if I eat them for my dinner? We may think different if we were not at the top of the food chain, who is to say that we are? But that's another topic..lol

Yes its true that not all vegetarians are kind hearted. There are more cruel people amongst them. But personally i think a man who really loves animals will not obviously hurt it even for food.
