"Superbook"..Can You Still Remember This 'Good' Cartoon?

It suddenly came to my memory when by accident, earlier I was able to watch a very classic christian cartoon. When I was about I think 3 or 4 years old only this was one of my most favorite cartoons that I would sob and cry if my mother wouldn't let me watch TV at those times. Actually I have already forgotten the title of it so I decided to search for it on the net using only my visual recollection since I can still vaguely remember some of the characters especially the robot "Gizmo", Luckily I found it and watched it on youtube, and there you go- I almost felt I turned the hands of time while watching the video of the cartoon because for the very first time after 20 plus years, my childhood memories came along while watching this very classic biblical cartoon. It's actually a cartoon not only for the kids but it also suits to adults especially those who don't read the bible or for those who only think of themselves and for those who are too inconsiderate. This is the perfect cartoon for us to reflect on ourselves.

hi asiacevillar. yup, i remember this cartoon series 'superbook'. it featured the lead character, a boy named chris peeper, his friend joy, and chris' toy robot gizmo. i remember watching this cartoon series every afternoon at 4pm as it was shown by channel 7. what strike me as odd about this cartoon series was that it featured stories from the bible. nothing wrong with that but i mean compared to other cartoon series' at that time, it featured a lot less action. lol! anyway, i hope they would show at least re-runs of this cartoon series in free tv. please no dubbing involved and just show the cartoon series in its original english language. i wouldn't mind watching 'superbook' with my daughter. lol! another cartoon series worth mentioning and actually something similar to 'superbook' is 'the flying house'. anyway, two great cartoon series that definitely needs to be shown time and time again. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

Hi! cartoon with the dubbing stuff nowadays is very common and it really pisses me off. I really hate watching those original stuff being turned into a different feel, its purpose may be to allow those younger ones who cannot understand English language at their age to easily understand the program but for me it's still best to retain all the original thing so that they will have the same feeling as what we have had experienced watching the cartoon. It's also part of the learning process. Thanks for the response. Have a good evening!

This is one of my favorite cartons when I was young. It's educational which provides spiritual lessons basing from the Bible. I hope this will be revived/enhanced graphically so that our young generation today could also see and enjoy this carton series.

I remeber this cartoon too. I think superbook and flyng house has the same main characters. I love to watched them too especially during school break. This airs early in the morning before other cartoon program airs. I also remember that there is a club for this and I signed to be a memeber of this club when I was still in elementary. They send me comics and you have to send back the last page of the comics for them to send you the next issue. After completing all the task, you will get a certificate from them and some game stuffs (still it will help you reflect on something while playing games). Your parents will also receive certificate after you have been a full memeber of their club.

Oh yes of course. This was a very good cartoon series as it teaches values to viewers. A similar cartoon series was also called The flying house. I hope they do reruns of both series so the kids get to learn the bible stories at a more enjoyable way. I should remind myself to show these cartoon shows to my kids. Thanks for bringing this up.

I purchased a couple of DVDs for my granddaughter. She enjoyed it a lot.
