Western medicine vs Oriental medicine...choose your pick?

I believe oriental or natural medicine is becoming more and more popular nowadays. I think the reason for this is that the treatments would cost less and they often give more lasting results than western medicine does. Others may argue that western medicine gives faster results and are more reliable than natural medicine, and that natural medicine doesn't work at all with them. How about you, which of these two would you pick for your overall health and for getting healed of any disease?

I think we don't have to choose between the two, because we can be benefited by both of them. We take western medicine for accuracy because they are more refined and researched, then we counter-act the side effects by taking in natural medicines, as buffer. The result will be profound!

I would pick oriental medicine because it is natural and natutal is better and can be more effective. And also they are more affordable than western medicine.

I agree with you jvincent. I remember a long time ago that I even tried acupuncture to help me sleep better, and I find it effective! That's how much I believe in oriental medicine, even to the point where some inconvenient or even scary systems are used.

I think perhaps a good balance of the two - if there is any such thing - would be optimal! I do not put much stock in western medicine and have thought about studying to become a holistic something or other! I try not to take any medications as I really do not trust the pharmaceutical companies!
