For Philippine-based mylotters, which is best: PLDT, Smart, Globe or Sun? I'm planning to get a new DSL Line but I'm not quite sure which network provides the best service. I need one which could support VOIP, video streaming and downloads. Also, its quite important to have good customer service in cases of downtime. What are you using at home, and what particular service or package can you recommend?

I have been using Smart Broadband for almost 5 years now. It's really fast, especially if your location is near the downtown. The customer service is good too, they'll answer your queries and attend to your needs immediately.

I used to have smartbro, but i kinda messed up my account and I can't get the same line again, or so I think. I believe it also depends on your location, right? I'm sure downtown area has more hotspots than remote areas, so the speed would really vary.

I have tried all 3 service providers, PLDT, Smart and Globe. With PLDT, they have very slow customer support. You will have to wait forever for them to act on a complaint. Globe used to work well for us but there are so many tress around the house which was found out to be interfering with the signal. Since they cannot do something about it, they voluntarily allowed us to cut short the 2 year lock-in period. We are now using Smart Bro but the transmitter had to be installed on a neighbor's roof to get a good signal. Smart has good customer support and I admire them for it. We used to have a very slow connection but they made some upgrades to give a good quality of service. I guess it all depends on the location and how strong the signal is on the area. Try asking around from neighbors who have the internet connection and what works fine for them. Due to competition, I guess all these service providers are doing their best to give satisfactory service to their customers.
