I invited some friends for a pasta diner.

Chilean grapes - Very sweet and seedless grapes for a nice dessert.

My grandmother made an awesome pasta with spaguetti and a tomato sauce with chicken pieces. I invited a couple who is just coming back from Argentina so we will have an interesting conversation topic. I bought different cheeses, stuffed olives (some stuffed with hot chile!), almonds and other nuts, raisins to make a nice antipasto. I also have a guacamole to serve over crackers. Then there´s the spaguetti with the chicken sauce and I bought the most wonderful grapes as dessert. I found beautiful and inexpensive grapes as it´s the season and we export them. I hope they like my diner. I have been planning what to do for about a week. Do you plan ahead what you will serve, when you invite?

I love to hear about traveling. And I love to travel as much as I can. We had lots of fun yesterday and compared notes on our experiences in Argentina. I have never been to Mendoza although it is very near where I live, but I have been several times to Buenos Aires.

WE bought a timeshare with my husband many years ago and it has proved priceless when the time for vacation comes. I spend a reasonable amount of money in 5 star resorts. Sometimes, when I cannot travel, I sell a week to someone I know. It´s good for me and for them. The last time I did it, I rested my week in Aruba for $850 (it´s for 4 people and for a week). That means that you get an apartment at $215 a week if you have maximum number of people. I can also exchange it to other places in the world but I have to pay an extra fee.

I don´t usually plan very much ahead, but I do plan from one day to the other. I usually have enough groceries to eat all I want and then some from one trip to the super to the other. But when I have guests, I start planning days before, so that I´m sure that I have all the ingredients and that I like the menu I´m serving. Yesterday, I went to the doctor and I passed by a place that sells very special stuffed olives. I bought some for my appetizers.

My friends loved my dinner. I usually receive applauses from my friends when I invite them. I suppose that in part it is because many of the couples I invite are still working and I´m retired. So they don´t have thwe time to make a really nice dinner. Some of them invite me out as a payment for my troubles. And when my very best friend has a party at her home, I´m the chef at the kitchen.

Your meal sounds great, can I come? Yes I like to plan for company, but we have mostly drop ins and for them I have about 3 different meals that I can fix up quick. One is a canned bean salad with a curry dressing, another is backed pasta with meat and vegs and canned sauce. The third is to run to the market for a roasted chicken and then just all to that.

Chicken is a great help. I always have it in my freezer. But I love to make some appetizers when company comes and I don´t always have the ingredients for that on hand.

I love to cook and I love to invite friends for diner. I live alone so it´s nice to have people to talk to and the like my cooking. Pasta, with many kinds of sauces, is a favorite for many people. I always make pasta with pesto when my grandchildren come to eat without calling beforehand. I have frozen pesto in my freezer

Definitely. I have to plan what Im going to serve so I can buy the ingredients ahead. I'm inviting my cousins for a short vacation here in my place, next week. They are kids, 5, 7 and 11 years old, so Im preparing to bake a cake, cookies and pasta, too. I'll be cooking a lot by then. It'll be fun to have kids around, and I'll take them to a zoo, nearby and a playground.

My girlfriend does. In fact, she plans for the week even when there's no one coming over. She works the afternoon shift so sometimes if there's no leftovers left she'll ask me what I want or she'll say "how about finishing up the spaghetti tonight and on wednesday cook hot dogs."

I don´t usually plan very much ahead, but I do plan from one day to the other. I don´t like to thaw meat by usingg the microwave oven, so I have to think up beforehand what will I do the next day and if I will eat meat or I´ll go veggetarian. But when I have guests, I start planning days before, so that I´m sure that I have all the ingredients and that I like the menu I´m serving.

Happy to hear that you enjoyed a delicious meal. I do not cook at home but I always see and eventually help my Aunt plan the food she wants to prepare whenever we are having some guests over. That is why it would take hours until we can leave the kitchen.

I love to cook so I invite my friends for diner often. They, in turn, invite me for diners out and I get to go places I could not afford by myself. I live alone, but when my daughters lived with me, they helped me in the kitchen and both of them learned to cook.
