I have been debating a fine I had to pay and when I first inquired about it, I was told they will charge a fee if you pay by credit card. WEll I took that information as valid so I decided to wait until the day it became due, and wrangled my accounts so that I had the money to pay for it. Wrote a check, and then today, which is the day it is due, I wanted to know when the courthouse closed because my friend will drive me there this afternoon. Guess what? The court house receptionist tells me that there is a secure online payment site that is for those to pay on credit card, and there is no extra charge. Was I ever stupid. Should have phoned before I wrote out the check and it costs money to buy check books. Well maybe it wold have been only $5 or so, but. Have you ever done dumb things and regretted it afterwards?

It already had when I saved up the money for my iPad, and then a knock came to the door and I got a summons to appear in court unless I paid almost $200 in fines. Bu the way the iPad was over $800 and in no way was I going to give up buying the iPad. I intended to use the iPad as a substitute for my computer since I could carry it in my purse, I could have music on it, books on it etc. nut what that stupid summons did was make people think it was hunk.

Well, i think that there is some misunderstanding with the information provided. Maybe what they told you is the fee charged by the credit card company itself. But who wouldn't know about that right ? But i guess it's like your own personal experience to give you a lesson to actually hear from more than one source of something that you didn't know about. Like if you are searching for the best phones on the market, you wouldn't want to ask only at one person since they would only tell about what they love and their needs.

I know when I had to get information for my passport back in 2007, and had to get the records of how I came under Canada- was three years old at the time, but of course the people at the Government office naturally assumed that I had a brilliant memory and was sort of like that lady on Unforgettable. Thing is they did say there was an extra if we put it on the credit card. It was no problem for my husband then, but since I am a widow, it would have been problem, so I think the one who told me thought that credit card charges applied to every government service. Of course, this was a provincial matter, and so perhaps the province would not put extra credit card fees (I am sure he was not referring to the fees that are charged to stores to get them to use credit cards and besides that information would not work here in Manitoba. You see, we are bargain shoppers and hardly pay full price for anything.) I did get the fine paid off. My friend drove me. The other friend suggested I take the bus, but it would have taken one hour to go there and back, whereas it only took about 20 min. round trip. And then I would have had to walk to the Mall to get change for a five dollar bill, so I would not be able to get on the bus at the end of our block since it is about half a mile to the Mall. So add those minutes on the time to get down there.

It was dumb on their part to make it look the way it looked, which caused you to think the way you thought. It would have been a good idea for you to call and confirm, but you can't be condemned for not doing it. They should have made it clearer.

That summons started a whole lot of bad things happen. I was made to feel that my buying the iPad was the reason I got the iPad, I started to feel like what I did bak in August and September when I bought those dvds that I should not buy things I enjoy. And now because of those new plastic dollar bills, my bank still have my rent deposit on hold. Yes, that summons guy really messed things up for good.

I know what you mean and it was not just one week, I went the next week and intended ot get the same thing, but forgot again, and guess what I even wrote on the list. Then I decided to say it out loud while we drove to the store, "don't forget to pick up the ---0" I guess my friend thought I was crazy, but this time I did not forget.

This account was very complicated. In order to pay it by credit card, they gave you a complicated url. But I was first told that I had to pay an extra fee so I did not bother. Of course later, when I had to pay it, my friend suggested that I take the bus down town, but that would mean my going to a store to either get tickets or change a twenty or a five. And at the time, I did not have any bills so I would have to go to a bank and get them. Then on the day that I was to go, I get the rent for the garage. Luckily I got a ride, but I think if I had taken the bus it would have cost the same as paying by credit card plus fee. Well I found out that there was no fee, but after I wrote the check so had I went to that complicated url first, I would have avoided all that running around. Yes I usually pay online or by credit card.
