Do you think MLM or networking business can really earn you money?

There are a lot of MLM or Networking companies online and it's often hard to pick which one would make you earn well. Some people would discourage that if you're not good at recruiting or referring people, don't ever go with MLM business. If you think Networking is a good business, what do you think can be the good steps to make a successful Networking business...especially when starting out?

Network marketing isn't just about placing people in your downline. It's about finding a product that you believe in and selling it. Your downline is only a piece of the puzzle. I am fortunate to be in a business in which every single person, whether their my upline or in my downline, helps each other out. We are strictly promoting products. IF a customer is interested in our business opportunity, we go from there. Similar to Avon, Mary Kay or Scentsy. The company I am with is a business and is run as such. People look at MLM and think "scam" because a to of MLM companies don't actually sell a product.... this is why network marketing is frowned upon. But find a product that you love, like I did, and run with it! :-)

I think this is a great way of looking at it, apoots. I feel what you have just said gives MLM a better image. I myself try to join MLM business online that interests me so I think I may be on the right road. Some have a few success but I have to work on a lot more things to become a real success in MLM business. Thanks for that insight!

No need to think. MLM has earned me money. Well. I can say lot of positive and negative things about MLM. MLM is not a sin, first of all. If there is a real good product and if it is useful for many people, why not try it and market it? (Some people would say, the commission is also included in the price. But it happens in the regular market too. The only thing they see is YOU get the commission.) And Yes, MLM is good if you know how to recruit. But how will you know, without trying it? You cannot think yourself bad in recruiting, until you try it. Ignore all the people who discourage you. And ignore all the sponsors who are pushy. YOU decide. That's the only way. (You should be aware of what you are doing, that's the key.) There are many companies in the name of MLM, which are Ponzi and Pyramid schemes. (Money is the main product there. There won't be any real product or there may be a virtual product.) Avoid them. The most positive thing about MLM is, it changes your personality. And it helps you know about you. (Irrespective of success or other, this personality change, you would like yourself after that.)

I have just seen that you started this discussion under 'Networking' category, which is related with 'Computers', not related with MLM.

Did I make a mistake? How I understood networking is anything that involves people and referring people in networking business I thought is one of them. If this is a mistake, how can I remove this discussion..do you know or anyone knows?

Well. It's just a mistake, not a blunder. Nothing to worry at all.

Personally for me, I have done a lot of different things online over the yrs. to help earn some Extra money. Some of them have been MLM types I would guess, and the others I would say are sites like this, or Network Marketing with a real product and a plan to try and help you earn some Extra money. There are many good things to doing this. Whatever company a person does decide to join and market with, make sure before you spend some money with them you do your homework and make sure this is something you are willing to do. In order to make money you need to be Teachable and willing to do what it takes to get there. If you are not good with Sales, and many times talking with someone, maybe this might not be what you should be looking for.

if you think you are manipulative enough or you have ability to make people convince with your promises then MLM is for you. If you are not a good sales person then MLM is not meant for you,

Yes, I think you're right CaptAlberWhisker. Sales people would be good MLM marketers because they are great in handling people and convincing them to join the business the offer. Yes, I guess people skills are necessary in MLM.

I agree in a way soelistio in terms of the system. I think there are MLM business without any products at all and I think that makes them like a pyramid scam.
