Slow pitches are killing IPL!!!!!!!!

In this IPL season we had seen lot of low scoring matches. Some pitches are made slow according to home team strength. The matches in such slow pitches are low scoring matches. The team batting first will manage to set a target of around 140 or even less. The team batting second will play slowly as there target is not so high and the result is a boring t20 match. But batting pitches generating high scores are always exiting (example: match between CSK & RCB, DC& RR). So i think good pitches which gives help to both batting and bowling should be made in which teams should be able to score more than 150 runs. Otherwise these type of slow pitches and low scoring matches will push the people away from IPL.

Hi Rock, Even low scoring matches are exciting. Some of them are very tight games. Can you remember Punjab vs Kolkata which was a low scoring game.It was an easy target for Kolkata but they failed it to do so.There is always a positive and negative. We should just take the positive and enjoy the excitement of T20 cricket.Yes,you are right some of them are boring. Not only high scoring games bring excitement but also low scores. The right tactics and good strategy can win any sort of game. That's T20 cricket!!

I agree on your view that some of the low scoring matches are also exciting. But the fact that those matches will get in to excitement level only in last 3-4 overs. Even in Punjab vs Kolkata match, the first innings and first around 15 overs of second innings were slow and boring. These time of matches some times get in to the level of test matches. that is not expected from the t20 cricket.

Well Whether it is slow pitch or fast didn't matter because all match is almost high scoring and all the team when they chase are successfully chase the match.. well people are watch the good game and want to spend their money will give him full value means every match will be goes to the last ball to be bowl, not a one sided where one team is up and another is just down, well all match bowler and batting had won the match for their teams..

I dont agree that almost all matches are high scoring match. Most of the matches scored below 140 runs. I agree that some low scoring matches extended to last overs or last ball and created excitements but those matches get exited only on last 4-5 overs. till then the batsmen score at around 6-7 runs per over, knocking the ball for singles and doubles. So the viewers get bored in middle overs and some times get the feeling of test match.

I think this time of the year the pitches in India tend to be slower. Except for one match which was really boring, I actually think it has pepped up the tournament better. The slow pitches have made the teams more even and that shows up in the IPL table where currently a clutch of teams are sitting on 6 points with very little to differentiate between them. Cheers! Ram

Yes low scoring matches are there in this year's IPL..but they are exciting also....high scoring matches often excite people but sometimes they are one sided also...IPL is losing its TRP and often stadiums are empty..as far as i know, this year's IPL has lost its brand value as well as audience at stadiums and on television also....movies are also released during IPL which shows how people are bored from too much cricket...so slow pich or faster one,IPL is losing its charm...

Either wickets are fast or slow in our country IPL had lost its fame. It was very popular in earlier additions as now Pakistani players are not in the event so people don't love to watch IPL here. The less fame is still there because Wasim Akram is there for Kolkatta. So fans of wasim Akram are still involved in IPL. I remember, I did't miss any match of IPL in first two additions but I have't seen any match of current event

we are already too bored with too much cricket and now this slow pitch low scoring matches. The result is IPL is losing it's TRP and we can see a lot of empty seats in the gallery during the matches. The main attraction of ipl is hard hitting and a lot of run in the scoreboard, the second team will chase it and we can see a thrilling end. But except a few matches that thrill is missing from this edition of IPL. Most of the matches in the beginning were low scoring. The situation is a bit better now though.

Even though IPL most matches has been low scoring some of them were pretty exiting. IPL is established for entertainment of runs but this season turned out to be a mixed one, but I think this is better with some good high scoring matches and some low scoring matches ....
