People's perception of rich kids, heirs and heiresses

When I never I saw an interview of a person who is rich by birth, in the comment section I always notice those hate comments of saying " he is only rich because of his Mother" "she is only a successful businesswoman because dad is rich" People always have perception that rich kid's are spoiled brats who never work a muscle on their body and has a silver spoon on their mouths. People always have perception that kid's of rich people are spoiled brats who doesnt deserve to live a comfortable life. I had met a lot of those so called "rich kids" and they were not spoiled brats, they were very disciplined and classy people who always have a focus with success. Why do all regular people have this perception that rich kids are spoiled and dumb like Paris Hilton. When there are Heirs and Heiresses who gained success without their parent's money. world_invading_whisker

Honestly Letran, i never think of rich kids as spoiled brats. I think of them as imitating their father or mother's acumen in their business, which i admire so much. A lot of good businessman nowadays take it from their parents on how to make their business boom. I guess, it's already in their blood.

Upps, sorry Albert. I was too eager to respond thinking it was LetranKnights that i was talking with. At any rate, no matter how plentiful your money is, it could be gone in a short time, if you don't know to at least make them grow.

I'm not Letran.... Its me the evil dictator who wants to rule the world and enslave humanity. if they just got lazy and spoiled, all the money their parents worked for will be gone for seconds. so that means many of the so called rich kids re actually mature and hardworking. Also according to statistics, there are more spoiled middle class kids than rich kids, cos most rich kids are introduced to the businessworld at a very young age.

People seemed to have more respect to 'rags to riches' type of rich people than "born rich' people. Rich kids are stereotyped as lazy and spoiled

I think that a lot of rich people out there are much like a lot of poor people. There personalities vary, but in many ways, both the rich and poor do have a similar perception from society. One is too lazy and doesn't have money and the other is too lazy and has money that they inherited from other people. And granted, those perceptions have been proven very true with many and not so true with others. Then again, if that is what is expected of you by society, is there any wonder why some people who are wealthy turn out the way they are. It is almost a self fulfilling prophecy. Plus, you have to deal with the fact that people who you think are friends might not be friends because they like you, but because they really like their money. So the arrogance that people associate with rich people is a defense mechanism. There are those who have worked hard, but obviously, we are a rather simplistic society.

I think rich people also have perceptions on the middle class and the lower class for sure, some of them are good and some of them are degrading as well.its like we are stereotyping each other.

What i always consider when talking of them is that they are people. The public only sees a fraction of what their lives really like and perhaps some are already judging them not on their own merit but by the reputation and merit of the parents - which for me is very unfair. It’s not the kid's fault if he was born like that but never did something to make his life better and the lives of the people around him. It's easy to say that they are rich without taking into account what other things they might have not have that other people o enjoy. For example, some rich kids are former in their parent's shadow or are in constant fear of disappointing their parents. It's difficult to carve your own life if the only thing they knew of you is being the son or daughter of this particular man and woman. One can say 'poor little rich kid' but it does happen. Some others need to mature early and share what they have. Overall, it is really hard to judge. We can only perceive what life they live. Perhaps, if we walk just one day in their shoes we can understand just a little bit of what they truly feel.

People thought their lives are damn easy when the society dont realized the pressure they have cos indeed they carry a family name and they were not allowed to taint it. They also don't have the freedom the middle class enjoys cos they have threats like kidnappers. I actually think there are more spoiled middle class kids that the so called rich kids.

Most people who talk like this are A) jealous of the persons' wealth, B) have never even KNOWN any rich people, and C) feel like they have to put other people down to make up for the fact that they THEMSELVES lack a good work ethic. Even Paris gets a bad rap if you ask me. People say that she does NOTHING. But she works to stay relevant. She SHOWS UP at parties. She doesn't let criticism from people get her down. She does talk shows. She flies all over the world and risks her LIFE (often) just by flying on planes so much. And she just does not go around the corner on a plane, she flies long distances like to JAPAN. She is ALWAYS on the go. How many people have flown to places like Japan, and Europe even ONCE, and risked their lives by flying on a plane?? She does it ALL the time. How many pop stars, and singers come out onto the scene shining like a bright light, and only stay in the limelight for a few months, or a year, and then we NEVER hear from them again. It takes WORK to stay relevant, even showing UP takes WORK. People don't want to give my girl Paris her props, but she DOES work hard.

I don't have any problems with rich people-as long as they don't brag about it or think they're better than you because of something they didn't work for. But I'm not going to hate on any random rich-by-birth people, because it's not like they asked to be born in a family like that. I'm a bit jealous, but I know it's not their fault :D.

Most of them are pressured to study hard and push to pursue a career they dont really want to pursue but they have no choice cos their parents wants them to continue the family business.

oh yeah, of course it is common.. its all part of someone's hope actually, so as to console themselves why others are rich and did not have to work while others work their heads off and still cannot save a little. Well anyway... i guess there are really a lot of kids who were so pampered growing up like someone my mom knew and she made a business grew and earned millions with it.. now the son was running the business and he cannot even decide! hehe he has to call mom who is on her senior for decisions and questions. i guess they will not be successful if they did not have the money their parents have given them to start up their own businesses. and well, yes, there are those people who have really worked hard for themselves and have become successful. of course they had to work twice as hard... whereas others who were born with the money, they did not even need to work as hard because they money is already presented to them by their parents. so that is where the huge difference is... and if in case something fails, rich kids always have a fall back - they did not actually lose money they had to save for years to put up the business, right? and those who invested had to make sure their business will be successful because there are no room for errors - huge things are at stake, really.

The ones who have such kind of perception are the ones who never knows one in real life. My friend (a very close one) owns an export business, owns a mining company etc. But her kids are never a spoiled one. Her kids are even shy ones and always stay behind cam. They are intelligent students and the two older ones who already are working (not in their company) but are working in other firm- to prove that they can work and earn not because they own the business.

this may have something to do with soap opera portrayals then Paris Hilton get famous makes it more worst. I had seen people calling Ivanka Trump a dumb Bimbo when she worked for other companies before working for her father and she is a consistent honor student and a successful real state mogul in her own right. People always have perception that rich kids are nothing but socialites.

Those people who thinks that Ivanka is dumb- are the real dumb. Well, regarding Paris- aside from her pretty face- no more comment :p

I remember that Ivanka isn't happy being compared to Paris Hilton. I watched her from The Apprentice and she seems to know her stuff. Anyway, I think she is the type that will be insulted if you just give her a job title and nothing to do. she works hard and I think her father recognizes that.

I guess it's a common misconception among others who are not aware of the daily lives of these people. Most of us hear and see only what's on the news, which may be bad or good. This gives us the idea on how these people live and what their lives are which makes us wrong. It's not a good idea either to label these people first hand without even trying to prove something if what we will be saying about them is actually right. Perhaps we should learn first the value of knowing the information about these people from the original source and not from other sources which are not trustworthy. This is actually when and how media comes in to the scene. Normally, we get affected with what media has to offer. Without even checking first the downside and its effect.

Many people always have the perception that rich kids are spoiled brats who just go to parties, travels around the world for fun and live a lazy life and depends on their parent's money until the day that they die. But we cant stereotype them since many of them lives in pressure because their parents have high expectations. We also know that many of them do charities.
