I know that science says that dreams are expressions of our subconscious thoughts. yet i tend to see them as a way of freedom to my inner soul. Do you believe that you can actually direct your dreams, the course they go, result you get etc. but there are certain rogue dreams which express your deepest fears, that end abrubtly as you wake with sweats. i would like to sleep more to dream more. there exists another world for me, another parallel dimension as i sleep. i am normal person otherwise. how could you explain these?

i would have some bad dreams sometimes no matter how hard i try not to think about them. and then there are times when i keep thinking about something, i would dream about them at night.

your subconscious knows everything about you and even if you don`t want some repeated dream, it spreads it before you. you can direct that bad dream in a favourable way by self suggesting the sequence. thanks for reply.

As a normal person, I honestly can't explain my dreams. However, I do agree that you have the ability to direct your dreams, or to do what you want. It is very weird and all when I'm dreaming, that I actually know I'm dreaming and I can fly if I want to and I'd picture the place exactly they way I want it to. If I wanted to go to a certain place, I'd get there. It seems weird that I can kind of control my dreams, I often do not like sharing it to other people 'coz they might think I'm crazy. But I do have that ability. You can actually turn your bad dreams to funny ones. I know I sound crazy but dreaming for me is a place of freedom, be that exact person I wanna be and got to places I've never been. I can't explain it either, I wish someone could.

Hello Dear Ravipors! I also dream a lot like you! I hardly have spent any night without having a dream. Only time when I underwent surgery for my Appendix I had a sound sleep without any dreams, that was possibly because of the anaesthetic, other wise I am a regular dreamer! I enjoy dreaming and as you say I have my own dream world! Some friends of mine say that they never dream! I find it quite strange! They must be dreaming but then they must be forgetting those dreams in the morning! I more or less remember most of my dreams even if I forget them I recall next night when I am going to get the sleep. That is what people call as REM stage (rapid eye Movement stage, this is a stage just before entering into a deep sleep). Yes, I too feel that we can control our dreams to certain extent, in between the dreams when I get up I try to sleep back and try to control the dream in my favorable way, which works for me some times! One thing for sure I can say that I realise that I am dreaming and want to control the dreams! Yes regarding those bad dreams which chase us from time to time like the one I often get, where I get panicky as I am appearing for my exams without any preparation! I read some where that such dreams are commonly seen by the people who are ambitious in their lives! May be dreams are subconscious feelings but many a times we see many faces which we have never seen in our lives! If this is expression of subconscious feelings then who are thee strange people about whom we don't have a faint idea about them even in our subconscious mind? Yes some thoughts are expressed in the form of dreams but some still leaves me in confusion! Thanks for the discussion! I liked participating in it! Have a nice time and pleasant dreams dear friend!

I rarely dream. Sometimes, I had dreams but I rarely remember my dreams when I woke up. On the other hand, there are times that I can remember what I dream. I am telling about those dreams that I got during the morning. There was a time that in my dream my body gets cold and wet and when I open my eyes, I just saw that my windows were open and it was raining outside. There were also times that there are things that is happening and in my mind, I know that this already happen, and that is the moment I remember I dreamed of it. Sometimes, I wish I could remember all that I dream because some of them really happens with me.

hi annierose, there is an easy way to remember your dreams. Dreams tend to fade away from our memory as we get off the bed. so keep a pen and diary close to your bed, and as soon as you are awake, write the dream you had. by this way you can remember many of ur dreams. i also had Deja vu feeling sometimes. i think they are quite normal.

I don't like to dream because i often dream of nightmares. I often wish i don't dream before i sleep.

I wish there is a way of tailoring dreams to our taste. You have to take dreams or nightmares as they come. You have little or no choice. There is one way out. When you get a bad dream shoot up from the bed and pick up some thing from the fridge to eat or drink. If the dream is good don't get up, continue to sleep or go to sleep again. Once I dreamed I had won a lottery. I went to sleep again hoping to win another.
