I like the convenience of using point-and-shoot cameras. Especially when I need to go to some places in which I wouldn't want to attract attention from other people with my bulky gadgets. But the thing is, I am no longer satisfied with the quality produced by my beat up p&s camera. I am planning to get a new one but I am still thinking of the best value I could get for my money.
In your opinion, what is the best point and shoot camera that yields great images? Not necessarily as good as a dslr cam because it may be impossible, but something that creates good quality images as well. Also, affordability counts. What can you suggest? Thanks in advance.

I would suggest you look at the Canon G12. It is slightly larger than most p&s but gives you near DSLR features except no extra lens. I have had a G9 and a G12 and loved both of them. I get excellent photos and very sharp pictures that I can make enlargements. Since I can only include one photo I will show you one that I took on a bus trip.

I think the branded ones are still with the best lenses and the best features, i.e. nikon, cannon, and samsung. i have been using a phone camera, samsung HD 8910, with 8 mb resolution, and the pictures are really great, as well as the video as it is in high definition format.

I just wanna say 'stay simple', hehe... Take the point with the subject as not too crowded or rush. Make sure the light come from good view; 7.30am-10am or 4pm-5pm when the sun not on top (if you work in outdoor). If you want take the rush theme or crowded image, make sure it is comfort to be viewed, for example; people crowded at traditional market. I think you can improve while you looking for at search engine.
regards ;)
