Why am I blonde? (surrounded by naturally black-haired peeps)

"Mais"; they would sometimes called a Filipino with bleached- blonde hair. "Mais" here means corn and usually corn has golden hairs. I'm so dying to blonde my hair ever since I watch Hunter x Hunter. Given for cosplayers; to portray their character properly; they have to look, act and feel like them. In other terms; it's like personifying a character on TV or novels. And for sure you have felt it once after finishing a novel or watching a movie; even a episode of a series will keep you going because you felt that you were a part of it. And now that I'm legally blonde; it gain me more confidence to cosplay, to be myself as a Otaku (term for anime fanatic and anything in between cosplay, manga and japanese fanatic) and to socialize more. Well; it may be expensive maintaining its blondness since black part of my hair in between roots and tips keeps on growing (blame it on the DNA that I have) most of my friends says that I suits me well; as some Americans are dying to be "kayumangi" (or having toasty skin tone). But still; part of the day won't be complete without teasing me as a "foreigner" because of my blondie locks. In your vision; would you blonde (or dye) your hair to gain more confidence? Tell us what color will it be and why or why not?

Mostly, I don't think about how I look and maintain the same appearance, nor would I let how I happen to look affect my confidence all the best urban

Changes for the better if necessary; I've heard it once. But I want to know more on your personal side. Would you color your hair to boost confidence? or to change your usual image once you get bored to it? Tell me about it.

I want to dye my hair but my mother won't let me. She thinks that my hair could get damage easily if I dye it. Is it true? I wanted to dye my hair to give me another look. Something with white or brown highlights might make me look better. Then I would spike my hair like a shark.

Nah... as long as you do it with a professional that's fine. Don't go with those cheap salons in the public or market areas. Go with Schwarzkopf or David's. They may charge you a lot but it's worth the service they're giving as well as they style that you've want. If you're on a tight budget; go for the Reyes Haircutters. They're also trained but charge you a friendly price. There are also DIY tutorials about dying hair. If you persist to get the lowest costings as possible; then do DIY for dark colors and highlights but not the BLEACHING PART (Bleaching allows you to remove the black melanin part of your hair) It stings a lot in the scalp like hell. Bleaching is treated to hair if a light color needs to be applied like yellow, pink, lime green and some light colors to take effect and to be obvious. Well; happy hair coloring... er; Mylotting! Boost more of your confidence by being true to yourself and doing the things you love. One of this is by answering your inquiries and giving advices ^_^-)

Based on the photos I am seeing on your profile, I think the blonde hair suits you well. It looks good on you, if I may say that. I also have friends who colored their hairs because they are fond of doing cosplays. I am not really into cosplays, but I would love to color my hair red. Not the Tun Lola Run kind of head though, more of like a subtle red. I think it will blend perfectly well with my fair complexion. For years I've been wearing my hair black, and it is sort of tiring to look at. So I guess, should I go red head, It will probably boost my confidence, even for a little.

Redish brown or red-dyed hairs would be nice and still acceptable in public; well, if you're afraid of that drastic change yet. I've seen some coworkers here having reddish locks and it really suits them even if one's a "morena" (tan in complexion) and good thing we have a bunch of good stylist now here in the country who can work on that one with you in dying your hair or to consult first what color will match your appearance.
