It depends on your requirements. If you are looking for a gaming platform then Windows is the best for you because most softwares are made for Windows. If you are looking for a good system for development Linux or Unix are better since they are sturdy & robust unlike Windows. These days Linux too sports a good looking UI.

Linux Linux Linux,if you are not a gamer that is. Beginner or advanced user, Linux is better. more secure, all features, more stable and more cool looking

i dont agree with you when you said that linux is better for beginners. beginners have problems in windows if they go to linux first they nevermore look to a pc.

then write about the different requirements abou wich operating system. i only think windows is more capable for playing games. its not capable, its because the game coders just make games for windows

Windows, due that major programs and games (software) are Windows dedicated, just for that reason, because, Unix like systems have a better core with such great stability.

depends on what you want to do windows advantage -simple for users -better look (Graphical User Interface) -more compatible (majority use windows so much of the software is compatible with windows) -better support (majority uses windows so if anything goes rong you can easily resolve it) disadvantage -expensive -low security -requires a more powerful computer especially the graphiccard for windows vista -more bugs linux advantage -opensource (its free -powerful security -good support for networking -good for enterprise (its betterfor Apache,mysql, and PHP) -requires a less powerful system then windows disadvantage -not very good-looking GUI -not compatible with alot of software -not alot of people use linux so you get as much support as windows I hope I was helpful
