It will be a great decision; I hope.
You may find it weird. Almost every one here is wearing the usual dress down t-shirts and pants and they all have the same reasons for doing so. I know you won't be seen by your customers as you assist them throughout the day but how about making them feel that professionalism?
And so I remembered my cosplayer friend; "dress to impress." Not to mention that dress good to feel good as it boosts confidence.
But how about the gigling later on at my shift? Will they take it as a joke? I'm so not into this corporate-thing but I want to impress in my new line of business in the company. This will be my second day at chat support. And I am not done with improving my typing lessons yet. I'm still at the process of improving it so.
Let me know your feedback. I'm waiting for it for the next twelve hours. I'll be checking this posts first before going to work. In that way; I'll be notified if dressing corpporate will be good to strut or not.

In where you're working at; do you also wear corporates? Does it also requires you to wear in such dress codes?

Oh, I see. You also have multiple jobs like I do ^_^-) I've been a masseur since high school but that's only for home service in the neighborhood and sometimes by request. But how about if you were to be choose; Won't you also dress up for clients, will you?
I guess the answer here is to for me to wear a good working attire that will make me look professional then. Thank you so much for letting me know your points of view. I'll definitely consider your feedback then.
I'll be looking forward for more of your shares. Thanks again and happy mylotting ^___^-)

last year i worked as a market research interviewer in one of the many call centers here in Cebu City. we were never told to wear corporate to impress the costumers. we were allowed to wear anything we were most comfortable and most productive in. what matters is your performance.

This issue was also part of what we were questioning before qhen i was a customer phone agent. Clients dont amd cannot see us... Bit our company then insisted on us qearing office clothes with only fridays declared as washday. Well our management then insisted that they told us that whatwe wear alsi reflects at how we act or how we talk with clients on the phone... It was said that what you wear afevts your interaction mood as well.

Hahha.. Yup; you've got a point on that. What you feel will conceive as you work along during the day wearing corporate ^_^-) And what's good about it is you'll get noticed by the client.
Usually teams here in our office will ALL; yes all will dress up corporate if they sense there is a client visit or if somebody from human resources will pay them a visit as well. And believe me you'll see that everyone turns humans in a day!

well, don't ask me cause i hate he business look. i like the old school vintage glamor look, but i'm gothic...so.....
anyway, i think you should look at what the company is wearing. do as the romans do. you don't want to dress up if everyone is dressing business casual and vise versa. it shows that you are already a team player.

I love you quote; "Do as what the Romans do"
Oh, yeah.. Probably the reason I'm having doubts is because I'm a gothic chic and dress down look more than the ussual clother.
Thanks for letting me know about your thoughts and happy mylotting ^_^-)

I think that it is interesting that many people think that you need to dress and look "professional" in order to sound professional, especially when none of your clients can see you. That being said, I do think that what you are wearing can have an affect on your mood and thus in your attitude and tone of voice. However, if you are not comfortable, then I think that plays a larger part than the actual clothes that you are wearing. What I mean is that if you feel comfortable and confident in professional attire, then that will probably convey itself in your voice and attitude. On the other hand, if you are uncomfortable in professional attire, then that will probably also convey itself as well, and while you might "look" the professional you might not sound it.

Yup; I know how you feel about that. Then might as well disregard all of the work attires. Then that will be more beneficial in my part ^____^-)
So does that mean that we can disregard the corporate outfit since it doesn't affects our business standings in the office?
I mean; it could make sense. One may wear a coat and tie but if you're knowledge for the job or career is not sufficient; then you may not be that professional enough. Or if you're not comfortable wearing it; then don't wear it at all. Or what does it means for you so far?

I can only tell you my experience. I know somebody that insisted on wearing a suit and tie, because he thought that made him look professional. He also was pretty knowledgeable, so that helped him as well. However, there were some things that he could not do in a suit and tie that needed to be done, such as crawling under desks to check wiring and connections or lifting, transporting and installing a computer. There were others of us that wore jeans and casual dress shirts. We were just as knowledgeable and yet wore clothes that were more appropriate for some of the things we needed to do. Of course, if we had to go to a professional meeting, then we also wore more professional attire. We all got paid roughly the same amount, so I do not think that the clothes affected our pay or positions, although sometimes the clothes did hinder job performance.

If company policy says you should be wearing corporate attire then do as they say but if it allows you to do otherwise then I think being more casual is fine. Be casual and comfortable. You don't need to impress your boss about how good you dress because their first priority is your metrics. My suggestion is wear what's comftable for you, then improve your typing skills and need not worry about professionalism *referring to the corporate attire you are worried about* because you can always make your customers feel how professional and polite you are the way you respond to them in chat. :)

Hahaha.. Come to think about it; it wouldn't make more revenue if all of the agents are wearing corporates and not being productive at all. Bosses are more concern about metrics that agents are producing and such rather than their appearance.
Thanks for letting me know your opinion about it. Also with regards to the corporate attire- thingy; I'm also thinking of that way as well. Happy mylotting ^_^-)

I think that as long as you are comfortable with it there is nothing wrong with wearing a corporate attire. It is your right to wear anything you want as long as it is presentable enough.

Ahaha...Yup; thanks for your thoughts about it ^_^-)
There are certain days which we are only allowed to wear corporate attire only. It is ussually every Monday. Then throughout of the days you can wear smart casual. Then Dress down is always on Fridays (Which I'm hoping that everyday should be Fridays for dress-down days.) And hope to see more of your posts as well.
Happy mylotting Ardoy ^_^-)

Well, it depends on the company if they require you to. For me, I don't like wearing corporate attire. You have to spend again a lot of money getting dressed up well. But if the company requires you to, then you have choice. hehehe

Most companies even have uniforms. Good side of here is they're representing the comapny and the work based on how they work.
Inconvenience here is you need to prepare your clothes everyday and you can't just choose work clothes based on your mood. Hahaha.. like most of the girls are lazy doing it and prefer to wear any clothes in mind if they're at it if given the chance to have any clothes to be worn during work days.

Proper dressing is coded depends upon the occasion where you are going. You can dress whatever you want that you fell more comfortable. I think you should wear that kind of dress so that you will look more professional. Because in dealing people attire is more important so that they will be impress what you look up.
