How do you manage to remember all the topics you've started?

If you've been around here a long time and aggressive in starting new discussions, did you ever find yourself wondering if you've already talked about something you have in mind. An idea came up, but it seems like you've already posted something about it before, but you're not so sure, if it was on myLot, or perhaps you just happened to talk about it with a friend.
I've not been here that long yet, but I'm in that dilemman a few seconds ago, and I can't be so sure if I did have a similar topic on my list of discussions started. I can't seem to easily spot it on that page.
I hope there was an easier way to manage our discussions, probably a way to sort it by interests and time it was posted.
Is there a way to do that?
How do you manage to remember all topics you started and not make a duplicate of it?

In the three odd years that I have been here I have posted around 500 topics but I do not think I have ever repeated a topic. How about that?!(cat's whiskers!
) May be I have a retentive memory or may be because I have had to comment on responses received that activity gets etched in the memory. Barring the fact that I am smart I find no other reason

True to your name - allknowing!
That makes sense. If we respond consistently to our own topics, it reminds us of what we've started. However, don't you have any topic that is left untouched - with 0 responses. If you do, do you try to improve the post and write something related in a different approach so it gets noticed?

I will have to search for those topics with no responses which will be a tough job.

Hey there. I'm also new here on Mylot but I think you may go to your Profile and you will see there the discussions that you have started. I also do the searching. You can also try that. That way we would know if that topic that we are about to post has already been discussed or not. I hope this helps. :)

I do the search, too. But, i think it only works if you tagged your discussions properly. I sometimes forget to do that.

I tend to keep track rather well of all of the topics that I made at least over the past few months. Of course, I have not created any topics rather recently, so it does make it kind of easy to remember each and every topic that I made. I think that once I start on a discussion and it seems familiar, then it won't be something that makes it to the post button.
But I think that I don't make that many topics, so there is really not that hard to remember each and every topic. Of course, after about six months to a year, I think that it is fair game for topics to come back around, as long as it might be approached in a different way, as there is a big enough turnover. Of course it might not be something that would interest me enough to post in six months to a year because there have been topics I posted in six months to a year ago that I would never post on this day.

Yes, i agree with you, i think mylot should provide to mylotters some tool to manage discussion.
And if you make duplicate of the same post, your late post will be deleted!

Firstly, i have not been here for a long time.So your first condition is off.
Though i am going to be here for a long time, i would start only 3 to 4 discussions a month,so i am not going to start many of those discussions so that i forget what i already started. And the next thing is,i would keep on extending my comments area as much as possible so that i get involved in that discussions too much and it will become so hard to come out of it soon.and so i would never forget it.I could see you were starting a lot of topics on every single day that you couldn't keep track on it.You can better start less and respond to more of them.Well, it up to you again..
But then you could remember all the topics you've started.I have seen people who are in thousands and have started only 50 topics as discussions-when you respond, maybe you could earn the same.Unless there is going to be an issue that you want ideas or advises for,or unless there something like fun going on nowhere and you want to create some, maybe you could avoid discussing-since you get paid for your responses and discussions-both the same amount.! Or..
If you are keen on starting threads and that's the way you could go,you believe, then maybe you could i mean, you could just look at those started discussions tab to see what all you have started-or maybe have a list of the topics already done! That would be fair..
