Hello, I am opening a pay-pal account right now, and, I came to the part when the page ask me for my credit-debit card number, I was about to type it in, when came to my mind that there are too many pages, that actually looks like the real thing but, that what they look for is to steal information from you. So, I would like to know, if there is any way, I can know that I am in the actual pay-pal page, if there is someone who can help me, I would be glad and thankful .

If you typed www.paypal.com into your address bar and the page you are looking at has the prefix 'https://' then it is a genuine and secure page. All data transmitted to and from a site which uses a secure site whose URL begins with 'https://' is encrypted and secure.

There are quit6e a few false sites out there that try to emulate Paypal for that reason. Many of them often send emails with a link to access your account, but the website address is always fractionally different. The safe way is to manually go to Paypal.com so that you know it is the real site. I never entered my credit card details for Paypal, but I used a bank account instead. I opened a second account with my bank and transferred £10 into it, so that I could use that account and restrict the amount of cash that is available.

Make sure that you type correctly www.paypal.com. Any additional letters or number to it is not true. Maybe for some country, it will automatically add an abbreviation after .com that represents their country. But other than that, it should be as clear and simple as www.paypal.com. Make reading a habit and make sure not to give important details to anyone you don’t know.
